The Huddle

Just had lunch at Takis to go which took over the old Huddle space. The burger was amazing the fries were fantastic and Chris the owner and Dionte the head chef were spectacular. I have to come back to try the Greek burger which has gyros on top. Please give this place a try and support local.

It’s been 11 years of our family’s restaurant The Huddle and we officially closed our doors for the last time yesterday. Over the course of the years, The Huddle has become more than just a restaurant, it’s become a space for us to be able to welcome all with open arms and provide them with what they need. We’ve been able to feed people who otherwise wouldn’t have had a meal, employ the most amazing people who otherwise may not have been given the opportunities and chances they deserved, give people a warm place to sit and rest, give encouraging messages to those who needed it most, and build so many meaningful connections with our team members, customers and community that have changed our lives for the better.

The Huddle has helped us grow and provide and love and learn and help and serve and appreciate and build and bond in so many ways. It’s been full of tough moments and so many incredibly rewarding ones. It’s weird and hard that this is goodbye. But what an amazing last day today with our incredibly amazing team. What an amazing last decade. What an amazing opportunity and amazing chapter.

To “Huddle” is to “crowd together or nestle closely” and thank God— I think we accomplished just that❤️ Here’s to food, dreams, family, friends and community. Here’s to the Huddle.🍔

We also want to note that as we close, our space will be taken over by our wonderful friend Taki who will start his own adventure “Taki’s To Go” there as early as next Thursday. A great local and hard working business man with extensive restaurant experience whom our amazing current team members will be staying on with. We will be there to try his food as soon as he opens up and I hope that the Huddle fans will provide them the same kind of support we experienced. Thanks again everybody for the wonderful ride and we hope that our paths will cross again soon.

Here we go….Gimme Five. We have many burgers left looking for a home. Come get any sandwich for 5 dollars tonight from 5-7 pm while it lasts. Dinner is served!!

Last day for your Huddle fix. Thanks so much for the awesome turnout these last couple of weeks. We are forever grateful. Although we are out of fries and Huskies, for today, still have plenty of Burgers, chicken sandwiches and other goodies so please come join us one last time. Hope to see you soon.

Hi Happy Huddlers!!

We are officially at one week left until we close our doors. We just want to remind you that we are closed on Sunday and you can visit us Monday-Saturday 11-7 to enjoy your last meals with us. We are so appreciative of the love you’ve been showing us since our closing announcement. We truly have the best community!

After 11 years of serving this wonderful community, we have decided it was the right time for us to close our doors and explore new opportunities. We can’t thank you all enough for your support and kindness over the years. It truly has been a pleasure to serve you and we will miss you very much. Thank you to all our team members who helped make The Huddle successful and fun throughout the years. Thank you to our local suppliers for helping us deliver great quality food and products. We will be open until November 13th, unless we run out of food sooner. So please come visit us and get your Huddle fix. We are sad to go, but excited about a new beginning. Just love the kindness of our customers and just wanted to share this review from Anthony. “I can’t even begin to put into words how amazing the burger I ate here was. I’m from Chicago so I know great burgers when I taste them and I could not put this down for a second. Made fresh to order, with a perfectly seasoned patty and the bun was soft and fresh as if they baked it themselves the toppings are fresh and perfectly distributed on the bun. The seasonings make your mouth water and those fries, fresh potatoes, didn’t think those existed anymore where the perfect complement to what might be the best burger in the northern Illinois area. Restraunt is a beautiful casual layout. The owner and the staff are enthusiastic and really seem to love what they do and it shows in the quality of the product. I left wanting more. It would be a huge mistake not to try this place out. The prices are fantastic for the quality and portion of food you get. This is truly a must eat place.”
