We would like to wish all of you dads out there a…
Happy Flag Day!
In the frame shop we work on all makes, models and sizes. From small boat trailers, to passenger vehicles, all the way up to class 8 truck tractors and trailers.
Here, we replaced the frame rails on this pickup that were damaged from plowing snow.
Tuesday evening we hosted 33 local first responders, including ten from our Towing and Recovery Division, at the Denver shop for the National Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training Program.
This TIM training program is designed to promote three main goals; responder safety, safe and quick clearance of the incident and prompt, reliable and interoperable communications between all agencies involved.
By including the towing industry into this program, it allow us to better understand each agencies roll in clearing a emergency scene quicker and safer while protecting all first responders.
To date this year 25 first responders have been struck and killed on our nations roadways. We must do better, together we will do better!
A special thank you goes out to Todd Leiss for sharing his program and wealth of knowledge with us. We greatly appreciated it!
Yesterday, we had ten of our technicians brushing up on their air conditioning skills by attending the Mobile Air Climate Systems Association, Mobile A/C Best Practices workshop.
This seminar helps keep our shops up to date on the latest techniques, technology and systems being installed in todays new equipment as well as allowing our guys to brush up on the preexisting systems. And by keeping our A/C Techs up to date, this allows our shops to expertly service our customers more efficiently.
Unfortunately, one of our guys bought a new to him SUV that left him sit. Fortunately. we tow employee vehicles at no charge when they are broke down.
Please take a moment to honor our military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Services.
Like many of our guys, you may have enjoyed watching the hit TV show “Highway Thru Hell” on The Weather Channel. A few episodes ago Jamie Davis had a challenging time getting a truck tractor off of the high-tension cables. When impacted, these cables, officially known as High-Tension Cable Median Barriers, tend to wrap around a vehicle and capture it by using extreme friction while grabbing or making pinch points. As you may imagine, this can make for some challenging recoveries. And then compound this with other obstacles such as the original galvanized guard rail, deep mud and heavy rain and you have the perfect recipe for a miserable Friday evening.
This was our evening last night…
We cannot express enough gratitude towards the great men and women of the Reamstown and Adamstown Fire Companies for sticking it out with us as we wrestled with this incident. We could not have done our job without your help and fire police protecting the scene. Thank you!
For the past 24 years GSFA has provided our employees with a family outing. It started with a picnic lunch, then we moved everyone to the Mt. Gretna Lake and Beach. But now with over 85 employees, along with over 200 of their family and friends, we’ve outgrown nearly every local option. This was when we decided to move our employee appreciation day to Hershey Park…except for the last two years. We miss having all of our family and friends together but we still wanted to provide our employees with a appreciation meal.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for all you do for Garden Spot Frame & Alignment and we look forward to getting back to normal at Hershey Park next year!!
PS. A special thank you goes out to Jeff and Roy for preparing yesterdays meal of smoked beef brisket and pulled pork for the Denver shop as well as Tuesday’s meal for the Leola and East Earl shops. The food was excellent!!
Broke down hot shot? We’ve got you covered.
Last week we delivered one of our retired loaner vehicles to the Fire Company. This sedan, along with another previously retired SUV from our loaner fleet, will be used by their members to practice operating their new set of hydraulic rescue tools. This is just one more way we can help those who help us.
Did you know we also replace brake spiders? Here is a job we did last week, all four spiders replaced for a great customer in York. We thank you for your business!
We would like to take a moment to recognize and thank all of our local Police Departments. Enjoy your week and stay safe!
When we are called to the scene where larger amounts of absorbents are used, our street sweeper is utilized. It does the job much better and quicker than brooms, which enables us to clear the scene faster. And, under the guidance of Hazmat 2, we leave no environmental pollutants behind.
Our main objectives are always to provide a good, honest service at a fair price, leave the scene better than how we found it, be excellent stewards to our environment and to get the road opened up as soon as possible to get the volunteers back home.
We would like to take a moment to thank all of the volunteer firefighters in our area. We greatly appreciate all you do for our crews. Enjoy your day!!
Here are a few before and after photos of some spindle jobs we completed last week. Just one more way we are keeping great customers on the road, quickly and efficiently.
The trailer shop recently completed repairs on this aluminum trailer. Our expert welder/fabricators cut out the bad sections and made quality repairs, which will keep this older trailer on the road for many years to come.

****ROAD CLOSED****
Denver Road will remain closed between N. Reading Road and Kurtz Road until approximately 4PM while our crews upright a tractor trailer and recover its load. We will advise when the roadway is open. We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
Another transformation from ugly to beautiful for a good customer in Baltimore last week. We thank you for your business!
Today we were proud to be just a small part of the PennTIME Move Over PSA Video Shoot. This video shoot was organized by members of which is a collaborative effort of Federal, State, County and local agencies as well as emergency responders. It’s focus is to bring attention to the new Slow Down Move Over laws that will go into effect April 27, 2021.
We would like to thank Todd Leiss and his crew for coordinating todays event!
We would also like to send out a huge thank you to our guys, who after working 13+ hours yesterday, stayed even later to get Truck 65 cleaned up for todays event. You guys always make us proud!!
Some Old Dogs just refuse to stay on the porch!
The shop just completed replacing the steering box on this 1989 Mack CF688 Aerialscope.
If your older unit requires repairs, our skilled parts department has the proper connections to find those obsolete parts and our technicians have the knowledge to get it fixed right.
Whether is be a truck tractor or a “tractor” tractor, they all wear down at some point. Here are a few before and after shots of a job we completed last week for a local farmer.
The trailer shop is busy refurbishing this older trailer. We can repair, refurb or replace any part on your trailer to make it like new again.
One of our techs was kept busy replacing the flywheel housing and head gaskets to stop a oil leak on this old Mack. We specialize in all types of engine repairs and maintenance.
Along with our full line of wreckers, we have our 52,000 pound GVWR heavy duty rollback truck. Truck 61 features a 28 foot bed on a low profile chassis and is capable of hauling loads in excess of 9 feet high. This allows us to transport fully loaded high cube vans such as Mercedes- Benz Sprinters and Ford Transits.
Call us today for your high profile, heavy hauling needs at 717-823-8569.
Don’t let ugly ruin your day, call us and we’ll get it repaired right away!
Wrecks number 3, 4 and 5 for the day. These last three are all on Rt. 222 around Ephrata. No injuries were reported.
If you must be out tonight or tomorrow morning, please be very careful.
We split crews today, sending the rotator, Truck 46 and the traffic control unit to the southern end for a tractor trailer on its side while Truck 54 handled the jackknifed tractor trailer on Rt. 222 on the north side of the county. Thankfully, both drivers were uninjured.
We sincerely wish to thank all the fire police and police officers on the Rt.222 scene that assisted in keeping traffic flowing, and our crews safe!!
The Rt. 222 picture was borrowed from the PennDOT Camera System.
We completed two more axle eye repairs with new kingpins for a great customer out of Pittsburg last week. Thank you for continuing to put your trust in our work.
Tight axle eyes along with new kingpins will give you that “new truck” feel again. Symptoms of worn axle eyes are irregular tire wear, loose steering and alignment problems.
Call us today and let our technicians repair your axle eyes, either at your shop or ours, at a fraction of the cost of a new axle.
We just found this article today while searching through our database of publications and wanted to share it with our followers. Much of the information still holds true today except the Bully Dog is now compatible with many of the newer engines and, with the ever advancing technology, we are seeing better numbers in fuel economy and power.
Give us a call today to set up a free trial run in your truck. If, after a few weeks you don’t like it, we will pull it out at no charge. But we feel certain that once it’s installed in your truck, you won’t want to drive without it!
We would like to thank Steve Po***ck and Movin’ Out Magazine for the interview and article!

Another damaged spindle repaired better than OEM for a current customer! Thank you for your continued trust in our work!
Here is a 3 1/2 minute video of our recovery on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Units utilized on scene were our 65 ton sliding rotator, one of our 35 ton wreckers, a tractor to pull the trailer back to our yard and our traffic control unit. This traffic control unit allows us to protect our operations, keeps traffic flowing around the scene and releases the volunteer fire and fire police units from the scene, allowing them to return to their previous activities before they were called out. While we greatly appreciate all that our volunteer fire companies and fire police units do for us, one of our main goals is to release them from the scene as quickly as possible so that they may return to their jobs or families.
We recently replaced all four spindles on a straight truck for a new customer. Welcome to the United Axle family. We appreciate your business!
Cheaper. Faster. Better.
Symptoms of a worn axle eye—like loose kingpin, tire wear, or alignment problems—require immediate attention. But rather than sideline your vehicle for a costly axle replacement job, GSFA’s Axle Eye Repair offers a faster, less expensive alternative to conventional axle repair.
We’ll install pre-cut, pre-hardened axle sleeves without removing the axle. The whole process is completed in a couple hours, and you’ll drive away on an axle that’s better than the original.
Best of all, the cost is only 25% of a new axle, yet it gives you a long-lasting solution that reduces tire wear and improves alignment. And that means a smoother ride and easier steering for the long haul.
For added convenience, we’ll send our mobile unit to perform the repairs wherever you are.
Here we did a axle job for a good customer in Lancaster County. As shown in the pictures, our process will bore out the worn axle eye and insert a sleeve, making the repair a tighter fit than from the factory.
