TEN years ago (this past October) I started Redrock Portrait Design! TEN YEARS! How is that even possible!? Man, business ownership is a wild ride.
A little about my story...

My photography journey began in high school. Growing up I always had a passion for photography, and was very much a hands-on learner. I jumped at the opportunity in junior and senior year of high school to do half days at a career school, which is where I studied photography and graphic design. (film & dark room!) After high school I worked in some restaurants, not exactly sure what I wanted to do with my life. I played around with photography, even started photographing my first few weddings at just 18/19 years old! At 20 I decided to give college a try after a friend told me about a really good photography program. I absolutely loved it, aced all my photography and business classes, and barely got by with the gen eds. After one year I ended up switching to a college out west, and this is when my career started blossoming. I worked for a few different photographers and photography companies photographing weddings and loving it. I will always say this is when I really grew, yes school teaches you, but the real life experience is when you really learn. 12+ years ago I moved to Colorado. I worked with many different photography companies (weddings, babies and families) here before I decided to start growing my own business, and eventually being able to become a full time photographer/business owner about 8+ years ago!

In 2019 I decided to end my wedding photography career to focus primarily on growing families. It was a scary jump to specialize in one specific genre, but oh its been so worth it! In 2023 I photographed 188 families!!! That's you guys!! These included maternity, newborn, milestones, and family sessions! You guys keep me busy and I seriously can't thank you enough. I have some clients that have been with me my entire 10 years!

At the end of 2022 I took a huge leap and opened my very own studio. Holy s**t that's been a wild ride, running 2 full time businesses, but oh so worth it! Especially now since we are past the first year of figuring out alllll the things 🤪

Anyway, if you've made it this far, I just want to say thank you for years and years of support and dedication! There are many of you who feel more like friends and family than clients and that's the part of this business I love the most ❤️ thank you for being here!

I can't believe I've never posted the inside of my studio for you guys! When most people walk in, their immediate reaction is "oh, it's so cute in here!" Then it dawned on me, if you haven't actually been here, you've only ever seen the photos taken here, not photos of the actual space 🤦‍♀️ so here it is! ONE year in already!

(In case you were wondering why it has a different name, it's because I also rent it out to other photographers 📸)

I added some pretty new spring colors to my newborn wrap collection, pretty enough for me to give them their own spotlight 😍 and let's be honest, you all know I love a good neutral pallet, so I threw those in there as well! Did you know I bring wraps and headbands with me to every newborn session, both to your home or at my studio? Just one less thing not to stress about!
