🎨 Meet Our Artists!

Introducing Mark Brasuell, one of EDGE's original members. Mark has been showcasing his work at EDGE since 1989 and has received numerous "Best of Denver" awards from Westword magazine. His art has been featured in the book Colorado Abstract by Michael Paglia and Mary Chandler. With exhibitions in museums and collections nationwide, and shows internationally, Mark’s work explores the realms of the unconscious and subconscious, informing his abstract art.

His latest pieces are large-scale abstractions with deep, moody black-and-white tones accented by vibrant pops of color. A graduate of the University of Denver, Mark has also been a dedicated art educator in Denver for over 30 years.

Join us for the opening this Friday at EDGE Gallery from 5 to 10 PM and meet the artist!

Meet our Artists! Faith Williams Dyrsten

Born in Denver, Faith Williams Dyrsten has called Colorado home for her whole life. She currently works as an art educator for a public high school in Aurora. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Education from the University of Denver. Faith’s artworks have been exhibited locally at Edge Gallery, Arvada Center, and the Vicki Myhren Gallery – and nationally at Brown University and the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Her works are held in the collection at the St. Joseph Hospital and the Kirkland Museum.

She aims to use art to make science and conservation issues more accessible to everyone. Faith has collaborated with science organizations such as Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, Creature Conserve, City of Boulder Climate Initiative team, and the Endangered Species Coalition. For this exhibition, we has partnered with Wild One’s to host a free seed giveaway event for those who wish to take action by planting their own native plants.

Exciting News! My solo show at EDGE Gallery is finally here, titled "Markieren Markieren" — which translates to "Mark Making Marks" in German. This exhibition continues my exploration of the subconscious and dreamworld, with a deeper focus on the act of mark-making itself. Even within the dark expanses of black, the marks inform and shape the space, adding depth and intrigue.

This body of work is some of the most thrilling I've created, and I'm eager to share it with you!

Join me for the opening on September 13th from 5 to 10 PM.

The show will run from September 13th to September 29th at EDGE Gallery.

Featured here is "Möglicherweise Rosa" (Possibly Pink). I began this piece with washes of pink, layering black and white over the top while leaving certain areas exposed — a reminder of the journey from start to finish.

Hope to see you there!
