Why Bikram Yoga?
Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class is a demanding series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises practiced in a heated room, which is suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments, and joints needed for the next posture. The Bikram method also systematically stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order.
Bikram yoga promotes the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss, and limit the effects of aging. The series of postures combines skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control, that increase mental clarity and reduce stress. Bikram yoga is done in a heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.
What is the difference between Bikram Yoga and Hot Yoga?
The fundamental differences between Bikram Yoga and Hot yoga is safety and continuity. Hot yoga is a variation of more traditional forms of yoga, like vinyasa, and varies from studio to studio greatly. Hot yoga does not require certifications making it potentially dangerous in the wrong instructor’s hands. Bikram yoga is uniform and controlled – always taught by Bikram certified instructors that can keep you safe in this strenuous environment. Our instructors are all required to have a certification in Bikram instruction before they are allowed to teach at this studio.
