Congrats to Karter for placing 18th in his division at the USA Track and Field Colorado State Cross Country Meet - Kokopelli Invitational last Saturday. Way to go Karter, we're so proud of you!
Today, our students continued learning about health care equity. National Jewish Health pulmonologist and health equity advocate, Jennifer Taylor-Cousar, MD, gave a presentation that defined terms like health equity and equality and health care access. She also led a discussion and answered questions from the students.
Today, our middle school students presented their ideas on improving health equity in the U.S. to a panel of doctors, equity experts, and scientists. The feedback was outstanding and their ideas will be used to inform a study on health equity here at National Jewish Health. We love how they think about the box!
Our garden’s pumpkin harvest was outstanding this year! Students had fun guessing the total weight of all the pumpkins together. The total weight was 152.1 pounds and the students who came closest got to take the biggest pumpkins home. Congratulations to the winners:
1st Place: Karter
2nd Place: Nahla
3rd Place: Amia
Morgridge Academy staff surprised Eliana, Refael, and Gavriel with some goody bags on a special Sunshine Thursday! All of us were surprised when a house across the street burst into flames. We are so thankful that the firefighters got there super fast and put out the fire so that no one was hurt.
Last week our students participated in the “Take Care with Peanuts” initiative between Snoopy (Peanuts Worldwide) and the Foundation for Hospital Art. The initiative was hosted by the National Jewish Health Child Life team and was a fun painting party. Our students painted a six-panel mural of Snoopy and Woodstock, which will join others painted across the U.S. to honor the 75th anniversary of Peanuts. Once the national celebration is complete the mural will be returned to the school and displayed. We appreciate all the creativity and hard work that our students put in on the panels!
Students in our first and second grade class enjoyed walking to the movie theater yesterday. They watched how a shipwrecked robot named Roz learned to adapt to living on an uninhabited island. Afterwards, they said of Brightbill, a baby gosling that Roz found herself the caretaker of, “Brightbill learned to fly and we all cheered,” and “My favorite part was when Roz saved Brightbill from the fox!”
Students at Morgridge Academy are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Here's one student's interpretation of a traditional Mexican folk dance. Now through Oct. 15, our students will explore Hispanic history, culture, art, foods and more.
Morgridge Academy first and second graders are having a great beginning to the school year!
Today, we are so excited to welcome our awesome students back for what will be an fun and exciting school year!
During the first week of summer camp, Morgridge Academy students had fun trying to build and create their own games, got to experience the Summer Olympics and decided that they love all the snacktivities. Thanks to our supporters for making summer camp possible for our students.

Last week we celebrated 8th grade continuation for three amazing students who will now transition to high school. During the ceremony, each student shared challenges and successes, and were congratulated by school staff for their determination and perseverance in achieving this important goal.
Congratulations and keep up the good work in high school!
We are launching our next One School, One Book on Monday! This is a special, community wide shared reading event. Every family will receive a copy of the same book - to be announced on Monday - and will be asked to read it together at home over the next few weeks following our reading schedule. We will also be hosting guest readers each day in the library for students that didn’t get a chance to read at home, along with quizzes and prizes! If you would like to be a guest reader, please reach out to Ms. Katie at [email protected] or 720-254-1557.
What a beautiful day for Sunshine Saturday today!
Thank you to Suzanne for showing us her amazing paintings and her new room. We hope you enjoy playing Jenga with your family!
Armanie was such a great hostess by offering us snacks. She also told us she wished it was a school day so we could be together all day. Laniyah was excited for us to arrive and we can’t wait to hear who wins at their game of Uno tonight!
Everyday we are thankful for Wally and his commitment to our school community. We wouldn’t be the school we are without him! Congratulations on 40 years!
Today we were honored to celebrate 174 employees who have reached employment milestones between 5 and 40 years. This year, three hit the 40-year mark: Shirley Brown, RN; Wally Lederer, MA; and David Riches, PhD; who are pictured here with hospital President and CEO, Michael Salem, MD. Thank you for all you've done and continue to do for National Jewish Health.
