Our old wedding chapel is now a bicycle shop! It still looks about the same from the top of Table Mountain, but the inside has been drastically transformed.

After 33 years of living in our house, we’re finally doing some major renovations, like painting inside and out, laying new carpet upstairs and down, repairing the patio after my foot fell through the old wood, etc. last week we spent four nights in Glenwood Springs and Aspen to get away from the painters, and this week we’re spending a couple of nights in Golden while the carpets are laid. As you can see, it’s a lot like moving completely, including our piano, refrigerator, 3000 CDs, etc. etc. So today we took a hike up Belcher hill, looking down onto Rocky Flats.

Cottonwoods by the streams are definitely turning, but the aspens, not so much yet. Even up above 11,000 feet there is very little color. This little swatch of yellow is at about 11,200 feet. Some of the Aspen we saw today as high as 11,400 feet were still totally green. But the change is definitely starting!
