The end of slavery in the U.S. was marked on June 19, 1865. Today is Juneteenth, which recognizes this important date in our country’s history.

Team HEALTHeLINK participated in the annual United Way of Buffalo & Erie County Day of Caring today volunteering at Danceability Inc.!

Last fall, we shared that HEALTHeLINK had been awarded a $1 million cooperative agreement over the next two years through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT’s Leading Edge Acceleration Projects in Health IT program to enable availability of advance directives at the point of care. As part of this project, we are now live with our first advance care planning data source. These documents are now available from ECMC outpatient clinics via HEALTHeLINK.

HEALTHeLINK team members have begun making in-person drop-ins at participant offices to provide one-on-one support and answer any questions participants may have. These drop-ins also enable our team to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing our participants and how they can best be supported.

FRIDAY FACT: HEALTHeLINK enables the delivery of patient encounter data or CCDs from a provider’s EHR to share consented patients’ medical information easily and securely among treating providers. More than 11.4 million patient encounter record lookups occurred last year alone.
