The Highland Park & Oak Park Small Businesses Present: Giver's Night!

Join the small businesses along 6th & Euclid Avenues in the Historic Highland Park Business District for a special neighborhood trick-or-treat event!

Our take on Beggar's Night, we invite you to don your costumes and bring along donations for The Supply Hive to swap for a treat! Suggested Donations include: non-perishable Food Items, fresh food for community fridges, hygiene/personal care products, household paper products, diapers, and formula. (We realize that making these kinds of donations is not reasonable or realistic for every family - your kiddos will NOT be denied a treat due to lack of donation!) Donations will be accepted at each participating location.

((Crossing Guards will be present to ensure safe passage across 6th and Euclid Avenues, please utilize them as a resource to cross our busy streets.))

I MADE IT 🥹🎉

WHAT a year it has been. WOW. I opened my doors to you guys 9/9/2023 & then two months into the business my life flipped upside down and I had to relearn how to be a single mother of two boys all over again all AWHILE running a business completely on my own, along with grieving so much all at once. LET ME TELL you it has been the TOUGHEST, but MOST rewarding at the same time. Definitely my year of learning how to really live in that yin and yang energy ☯️

There were some really tough moments there for a while that really made me question if I should give this up or not, but I just stuck with my ‘why’ and fought it head on. Plus I’m not one to give up, I fight like hell for the things I want. 💪🏼 Everytime I had those thoughts or feelings though I would have a really good customer of mine come in and humble/ remind me of why I am doing what I am doing… 🥹

Running a small business is extremely hard, raising kids is incredibly hard (with a partner or without), working for someone else can be hard, things are just tough no matter what situation you’re in, it’s matter of choosing your hard 🩷 So I’m choosing to continue this hard & work even harder like the badass I am 💪🏼

I want to thank everyone from the depths of my soul whether you are my loyal customers who continue to show up & give your love & support always, to the anyone new who walks into my shop and falls in love with it, to anyone who just simply does anything to show any kind of support, it never goes unnoticed & you don’t know how much it means to me each and everytime 🫶🏻🥺

A special shoutout to a few people in my life — allowing me to make this dream of mine possible as a single mother — my parents for helping out SO much with my boys, my grandma, my aunt/uncle, & lastly my two best friends Heidi & Mikaya!! You all have helped out so much in so many ways this past year and I cannot thank you guys enough for being part of my village, I love you all so much!! 💚

It’s been such a year to remember, lessons were learned, & my strength was tested, but I am ready to continue to build my business, grow this amazing community, keep showing up, & to stick around for many many years!! ✨
