Kissing my yesterdays goodbye!
Learning how to hand my cares, worries, and concerns over to God. Surrendering my life and everything I expected it to be is a choice and a process that I am currently living everyday. Trying to manage my own life had become so difficult and giving it to Him has become so freeing. He's the creator and author of EVERYTHING. I thought I had a solid understanding of that but NOW, I'm really learning that. Surrender everything to God and see how He transforms it & you! π
A video on this moisturizing session and protective style will be up tomorrow.
I'm celebrating all the victories β€. Welcome to all of my new followers and thank you to all of my continued supporters. I see y'all π

I'm starting today's Black Hair Care in History with a BANG! Madame C.J. Walker! How can we discuss black hair care without mentioning such a phenomenal woman who made it possible for so many of us today?! She is praised for starting her own hair care line that enabled her to be recognized as the 1st female self-made millionaire. This is not only special for a black woman but for a woman in general when during a time (the early 1900's) when woman weren't known for working outside the home. If this isn't inspiring, I don't know what is! Did you know that you can still purchase her company's products TODAY!? Yep under "Madame CJ Walker Beauty Culture". Of course the formula has changed over the years due to technological advances but the company's ethos still aligns with that originally put forth by Walker:
"providing high quality products to promote the health and growth of African American women's natural hair". β€
Just a quick sneak peak of my straight hair night time routine. What you don't see is what I used to moisturize my hair and how I did it. I'll post that in a different video.
Night time straight hair routine
CONSISTENCY
This is a super late post but here it is. I mentioned in a previous post what my hair goals for 2022 are. One of them is to retain more length. In setting this goal, I've learned that I not only need to handle my hair properly but that I need to document check points. So here's my very FIRST check point; January 2022.
Contrary to popular belief, I noticed that my hair actually grows at the "normal" rate of .5" per month. Just so I'll have a place to go back and reference, here are my measurements:
Front: 14"
Right Side: 11"
Left Side: 11"
Crown: 13"
Back/Nape: 11"
And this is after about a 2" trim in 2021. Hair health is not just about the numbers, its about how you feel about your hair too. π
I'm not for everybody and everybody is not for me and that's okay! But trust me, when its the right chemistry, IT WORKS!
If you don't use it, you lose it!
GOAL SETTING ππΎππΎππΎ
Who else, like me, has struggled with goal setting pretty much all of their lives. ππΎββοΈ Glad to know I'm not the only one. I am not afraid to admit that here I am, in my 37th year of life, and I have finally grasped the concept of goal setting.
I don't know what it is about goal setting, whether it is the act of actually goal setting or it is the planning and follow through that is a struggle for me but for 2022 I have told myself that I will commit to not only setting personal goals but setting goals for my business and my natural hair journey.
I know everyone loves to set goals either at the end of the year or at the beginning of the year, however, because my year my New Year has been so busy I'm just not getting around to start to document my hair goals and progress. Some of my goals for my hair are too definitely increase the length but, to also increase the versatility of my styles. If you know me, then you know a good two-strand twist is my go-to. I'm probably not going to rock a wash-and-go anytime soon though. I plan to do length checks & measurements around the 15th of each month...as long as my life allows ππ.
Whether you are late to the party like me or an early bird and planned your goals out back on November or December of 2021, leave a comment down below and let me know what some of your goals are for 2022. Let's be sure to support and encourage each other.
Whomever said had to be limited to Sundays must not be a business owner! I go hard everyday for my business and my clients, therefore, my self care is not just limited to Sunday's. I felt like tonight was as good a time as any to take some time out for me to relax.
I did my night time skin care routine followed up by some delicious tea. Sooo relaxing.
Now let me go chill for a minute...just as soon as I bust out this content for y'all! ππ
Happy !!
There are times where we start a task, a job, a journey, a new thing and we don't give it the time it needs to develop. We live in a microwave society where we want everything to happen right now and when it doesn't, we give up. We often times give up right before the break through. But DON'T. The win you are looking for is right around the corner. You may have to change the steps but don't change the goal.
Hey, at least I can help motivate you through your natural hair journey with ease β€.
Rinse Out Conditioners vs. Deep Conditioners...
You don't need to use both on wash day but both are needed in your box of goodies for any curly girl for proper protein/moisture balance (elasticity).
If you haven't heard it yet, I'll let you know...whatever it is that you're afraid of right now...YOU GOT THIS!
True or false!? The hair strands are pushed out of hair follicles that are similarly shaped.
Hello and nice to meet you all!
Maintaining natural hair is never just about the right products; that's just part of the equation. Solely focusing on the right products will cause you to miss the other pieces.
You need to use the right products WITH the right routine/process, WITH the right mindset, all while being consistent. They all work together β€
It's a new day. Think new thoughts! Our mind is so powerful. I encourage women everyday to think new thoughts about their hair (and themselves); to have a different mindset around their hair in order to better maintain it. Your thoughts about your hair play an integral role in it's abilities to THRIVE (or suffer)!
What are some of the thoughts you have around your hair? β€
Through my EPIC 5-Step Approach, I show you how YOU TOO can have these same juicy twist.
What I do best. Its all about the process, not the products.
She didn't want to abide by the rules so she made her own! Happy Sunday π

Don't be fooled by the shrinkage. Curly hair can actually be very long but not look long at all! Some curly hair types have the potential to shrink up to 50% of their length, some more, some less. Shrinkage is actually a sign of healthy hair. The bonds that contribute to the strength of hair also cause hair to shrink and pull up.
The more you know...
