FYI...
Good evening all
This is just part of what me and my team is doing for Security at Glwa. Had to make a decision so our members can get a raise every year and not just a one time bonus check. Still working on market pay for this classification and all titles in glwa and Dwsd employees. This is just the beginning for us all. And thank you all for standing by me I know it's been a rough ride but it all changing.
Congratulations Glwa employees 👏 🙌
Good morning all
To all who don't want to receive emails from Susan Ryan please let her know and place a block on her to not receive any more information from her. Sorry for the inconvenience
On behalf of the office of the President of local 2920
FYI....
Good afternoon all
We are 2 weeks away from the election between President Juan Moore and wastewater chief steward Sue Ryan. a mailing has been sent out letting everyone know about the election and where it will be held. Also we just rapped up negotiations with Glwa so I will be going around to all of the Glwa work sites to give details about the contract and the upcoming general membership meeting. I will say that negotiations was alot better that the last one. But the push for better Is still a must for our members and I would like to thank you all for your support and assistance I can't do this without you all. God bless you and have a safe farthers day weekend 🙏 🙌.
From the office of President Juan Moore
Good morning 2920
Tomorrow June 14 Merc negotiations will continue with Great Lakes water authority working on the final T.A.s so we can bring it to the members at GLWA to look over if everything Goes well looking at a Glwa membership meeting no later than the week of the 24th location to be announced. As for Dwsd employees negotiations will continue on the 14th we are working to close out Some more T.A.s still haven't got to wages yet but the H.R director will be laying out her wage package that day. 👏. I must give both negotiations teams a hand because they are fighting hard. As for elections the election committee will be sending out mailings to give updates and information on the election between President Juan Moore and Susan Ryan. As your President I promise to keep fighting for more 💪 and uplifting our members. More updates later this week. Be safe all. 🙏
Cont:
Working from home out in the field or at any plant ,No members will be denied entry to csf to cast there vote
As most of you may or maynot know the union hall at council 25 is still not open . To this beening said the election date is being pushed back so a mailing list will be mailed out to all 2920 members. Tentive date is Tuesday July 12th and Wednesday July 13th.
For these reasons Sue Ryan protest is Denied
Election chair committee
Thomas Johnson.
To: Susan Ryan
To your Protest; your protest is in invalid per the AFSCME Election Manual regarding Protests paragraph 2 “A protest may be filed immediately upon completion of the election or within ten days thereafter. It should be filed in writing, with the election committee chairperson, if the committee has not yet been discharged, or with the president or secretary of the local.”
The 2920 Election has not taken place yet. If you have something that states, different please send it to me and I can adjust things to suite.
To your 1st piece. The Local 2920 constitution says that nominations are to be held two months before elections, and that notice of nominations and elections must be mailed to each member at least 15 days in advance. The last nominations were held two years ago. New nominations must be conducted now so that members can elect people they trust in 2022, not in
2020.
Answer: Per the “Judicial Panel” as you were told by the panel when you asked that your Nomination is still valid and that we should have the election.
To your 2nd piece. For the election to be seen as legitimate it must be held at neutral sites. We protest the use of CSF or any other management owned and controlled sites for the election. It's
another incident of Election Chair Johnson giving Juan Moore an advantage by selecting his worksite for the ballot box location.
Answer: This information is false and inaccurate. As you know and voted in the last Contract we have had Contract voting/ratification at Water Works Park a “Great Lakes Water Facility”, which is “not” a shared location but were allowed to conduct that there. However the Central Services Facility of the Detroit Water & Sewage Department which “is” a shared service site, meaning DWSD & GLWA employees and services both reside at said location. Members of DWSD and GLWA will be allowed by both departments “Release Time” to come to vote and immediately return to work. This will apply for those working from home, site
Good afternoon all today I have received numerous calls and concerning emails from members about emails and flyers that have been sent directly to members. I would like to say that a lot of the stuff on that flyer is misinformation and misleading. For one there will be an election and it will be between Juan Moore and Susan Ryan, all other Union positions were won by acclamation during the nominations in 2020. There will be no redo. To those who know me knows there is no grand scheme or plot of any kind. So again I apologize for any confusion that has come behind this and my office is working towards getting the real information out to the membership. Thank you all and have a blessed safe day.
Good morning all
Happy Memorial day.
Tomorrow will be June 1st and all this coming month 2920 will be busy with negotiations prep for Dwsd and Glwa also on June 3rd we will have our second zoom stewards meeting to bring our stewards up to date on negotiations and union issues. After that later in the month we will have our first executive membership meeting since covid 19.6 then a general membership meeting. This month is our important because want to get our stewards more involved and to get our new employees signed up.
But God bless you all and be safe 🙏.
From your President Juan Moore
Continue..... so we have put in grievances to fight this for both sides Dwsd has Recognized that this was bad for the organization and the city and they are fixing it. Great Lakes water authority wants to do it their way but people are mad and leaving glwa. The fight hasn't stopped for the union we are in negotiations and in Merc now to bring a end to this gross pay issue.
So as your President i will continue to fight for our members and continue to stand for continued growth. The fight will continue 💪

Good afternoon all
As the President of local 2020 I would like to dispell the rumors at Wastewater.
1, the union didn't sign or agree to put the Wastewater plant on 12hrs, Glwa used the CDC guide lines to implement the shift changes due to covid 19.6. And at that time other work sites was also on the same hours.
2, Juan Moore or Tracy Reynolds never negotiated or went in any negotiations without the negotiations team from Dwsd or Glwa, As the President on behalf of this union as per the contract Agreement can As for a special conference with management from Dwsd and Glwa to discuss issues fight for our members and rules and procedures.
3, Due to covid 19.6 the in person membership meetings had stopped to protect us all from getting sick and still to this day Michigan covid rates went up, I just in the last 4 weeks from the C.O.O from Wastewater there are people still getting sick. So this union isn't going to put our members lives in danger. Till this dies down we will continue to meet on teams and zoom to discuss issues and pass out union approved news letters not from anyone that acts outside of 2920.
3, As some of you may or may not know Juan Moore And Tracy Reynolds were both brought up on charges by Susan Ryan Chief Stewart of crew #2 at wastewater on 13 charges, 12 of the charges was dropped and dismissed but one and the one was for her saying that we was negotiating with management without membership involvement and that is not true. As you current President l will be putting in an appeal to remove this charge off our name. Lack of facts and information to the panel is the cause of the dispute. We will be ventcated on this also.
4, Monday of this past week there was a freedom of information act request made by one of our members at wastewater for the salaries of all of its employees at glwa. It was passed out to everyone at wastewater. As we all know yes it is people making different amounts of pay coming in the door we all knew this since 2016.
Congratulations to the employees of DWSD, you all have successfully completed the Performance Evaluation Process for fiscal year 2021/2022. Currently, we are in negotiations for the merit planning phase of the process. At the completion of Merit Planning, we will begin the next steps in moving forward to pay increases throughout Dwsd. Thank you all for your continued support and assistance.
This is a step forward finally....
From the office for President Juan Moore of 2920.
Good morning all
To all Dwsd and Glwa employees
Yesterday the Great Lakes water authority negotiations team met At Merc and the employer provided us with there new proposal. They clearly still not trying to give us a true wage package for the duration of the new contract, but they are going to adjust the levels so people that are red lined employees can get pay increases throughout their employment. But it still not fixing the wage gap between us and the market, so we pushed it back and told them were not taking this back to our members this is garbage. Our proposal would give us fair pay and raises throughout the term of the contract, so we go back to the table in June but before then there will be a membership meeting for just glwa employees to give detailed information about the contract in the next 2 weeks.
As for Dwsd employees today me and your negotiations team meet with the H.R director to go over the increases the city wants to give all current job titles, from the talks with Dwsd it looks promising. But we will know more today. I will give updates later in the week for both sides. I also want to let everyone know that Juan Moore is running for President of our local and will give a conference in June to announce his campaign 😉 . The fight must continue and with your help we can make a difference in our local.
Thank you from your President Juan Moore 🙏
This week negotiations for Dwsd and Glwa continues. The push for more pay per the market. With the citys new budgets there is more money to give to our members so we are asking for our fair share. Glwa is in MERC because Glwa is not trying to raise the pay or pto, and that is a unfair labor practices. We are going to fight for far pay. So Monday may 23rd glwa and Tuesday may 24th Dwsd. Wish us luck.
Good afternoon all
Today 2920 negotiations team was at the table and Glwa is offering a $700 dollar signing bonus for Ratification, but first Glwa has to Make a memo to their proposal because of the red line employees that we have at Great Lakes water authority they are due a contract raise or as they say a Union ways not a progression raise. Our members were supposed to get it as far back as 2018. Also we are waiting on Glwa Proposal for a market increase for all job titles. We are fighting to bring us all up to livable wages. I will continue to fight and push for better for us all.
As for Dwsd employees we are still in negotiations also and we go back to the table on the 30th of this month. Dwsd has Recognize the travesty that has been done to its employees and is processing adjustments for all working titles including the starting pay for entry level employees coming in the door not making more than I remember that's already working there, that was some good news for once. But we still have a long fight ahead of us. And yes I am still running for President of 2920 and if elected I will continue to stand up for our rights. And to those that work out at CSF PLEASE DISREGARD THAT Flyer from this morning..... to those that know it's nothing but trouble and no truth behind Ryan's remarks.

Please be advised that DWSD HR has informed me that FST's I & II's will be eligable for the hazzard pay. I infromed them that Securtiy and AFT need to be added to that list. I was told that they don't come in contact with the public. The Mayor asked that the Union Leadership reach out to Denise Fair to make sure that all of our members on the front line get recognized. But HR will not give me any contact info for her. If anyone can assist me in reaching out to her or the Mayor please let me know.

AFSCME members are on the front lines of this epidemic, many of them risking their lives, without the resources and protections that they need. It's time for Congress to step up for them, like they've stepped up for us. We need a stimulus bill that provides aid to state and local governments to fund public services. I talked about these urgent priorities this morning on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal."
