We're incredibly thankful for Rcc4me, who brought 22 students for a dedicated serve week, completing 9 impactful projects that blessed families in our community. They brought their own bedding and food, staying at our Ministry Center, fully committed to pouring themselves out in service. The theme of the week was to serve others with the faith that the Lord would refresh and strengthen them. On the first day, we reflected on how to live like Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. Their hard work and dedication truly embodied this message.

Together, 28 individuals from these three churches dedicated a day to beautify our Ministry Center on 8 Mile Rd, a great space that rocks for Jesus. Their servant attitudes and positive spirits truly reflected what it means to serve others with love and kindness. 🌟

Our summer youth employee teen’s spent 2 whole weeks at Camp Michawana where they participated in their Team Timothy program! Our teens washed EVERY dish after EVERY meal and even got the chance to shadow Michawana’s incredible camp counselors as they learned what it looks like to be a leader and a servant! 🫡❤️

What an incredible (and exhausting) few weeks! Our teens and staff worked hard (and played even harder)! Here’s to a good night sleep as we begin our adventure back home today! 😴

WAY served for 3 days, bringing 50 incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly to beautify our community parks, landscape seniors' homes, and kickstart one of our building projects with some serious demolition! 💪🏽

Their great hearts and hard work have truly made a difference. Thank you, WAY, for your dedication and impact on our community!

Wow!! We had the best week EVER at Camp Michawana!! ☀️🏕️🔦🛶🌊🏖

Our kids are on their way home from spending a week away at camp where they learned why “Following Jesus is More than a Game (James 1:22)” and how our choices have consequences. Many campers made decisions to follow Jesus!! Praise the Lord!!

We swam, rock climbed, went tubing, fishing, zip lining, made lots of crafts, played tons of games, and had tons and TONS of fun!!

To wrap up this awesome week, we celebrated those who went above and beyond in memorizing Scripture, completing their log books, and had exceptional behavior! We are so proud of our students who received these various awards and praising God for all that He did this week!!

Please keep our teens and staff in prayer as they remain at camp and head into their second week! 😁

🚧 We are beyond grateful for Group Missions coming to Regent Park, Detroit! There were over 170 volunteers representing 9 churches from Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska, Indiana, Ohio, and Kansas. They tackled 35 projects across 13 sites in our community while staying at Grosse Pointe North High School. Their servant hearts and dedication have blessed our community immensely. 🙌 LifeBuilders continues to welcome servant-minded volunteers who love Jesus. A big shoutout to First English Evangelical Lutheran Church who coordinated the entire week, provided tools and supplies, and is still continuing to work on projects that were not finished!! 👏👏

Last week Lifebuilders was blessed to have the opportunity to share its mission with hundreds of families from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Florida and so many other places. Maranatha Bible & Missionary Conference is in it's 88th year and the LifeBuilders staff felt very privileged and humbled to speak on what the Lord has done in Detroit. Each morning we and Maranatha members/guests would wake up and walk to the prayer tower, a great way to start the day! The Lord provided in so many ways! He is on the move! 🙌

We are incredibly grateful for Chapel Pointe! They spent a week at our Ministry Center, working hard every day from 9-3 and putting on a wonderful community event. Their team built strong chemistry, grew closer to Christ, and blessed many of our residents. For most of their youth that join us, it was their first time here, and we’re excited to expose our work to even more people this summer. We deeply appreciate Chapel Pointe’s support and look forward to a long-lasting relationship with them, as they’re already planning to join us again next year!

We just wrapped up an INCREDIBLE first day of our 2024 Summer Day Camp!! Our children learned about walking in the Light instead of darkness, and had a blast making crafts, playing games, and eating amazing food! A HUGE thank you to Nostalgia Wood Fired Oven for providing such a great lunch for our campers on this special kick-off day. And thank you to everyone else that has helped make this year’s camp possible!

Our seniors program, followed by a great lunch, ended with us all having the privilege of witnessing the wedding vow renewal of the Hughes.
Jerome and Darlene just celebrated 20 years of marriage and wanted to renew their commitment to God and each other. They spoke so beautifully to each other of how God has carried them through the mountain top experiences and the deep valleys. They give HIM all glory and honor as they go forward into the next 20 -

We kicked off the summer with our amazing Mini-camp! 🎉 Take a look at the fun in these pictures—this was just one day! We had over 60 sign-ups, and our interns got their first chance to connect with the community. A huge shoutout to our partner, Camp Michawana, for leading the camp with their wonderful team. We praise the Lord for a successful camp and the joy it brought to everyone involved! 🙌

We have once again been granted funding under Michigan State Housing & Development Authority (MSHDA) Neighborhood Enhancement Program. It's our 8th year!! During those 8 years we have received several awards for outstanding performance but more importantly we have provided over 60 homeowners with a total of over $500,000 in needed repairs.

It's been a great encouragement to residents and has led to further neighborhood stabilization. Eligible repairs include driveways, porches/steps, and siding. Applications from residents are due by June 7th. Jimmy Smith from our staff will be managing the implementation of this program this year. Thank you Jimmy!!

Volunteer groups contribute greatly to our work. They are vital to our mission in many ways. Heritage Church, our ministry partner, cast vision to their church to come and lend a hand and their hearts to our work this past weekend. From beginning on Friday until ending on Saturday evening they gave it their all. 200 plus volunteers!! Thank you Bernie Schmidt for taking the lead on this project. We are already looking forward to the next serve project.

In total over 1,000 hours of service !! Thank you, Heritage Church, for your unwavering support, hard work, and the light of Jesus you brought to our community. Together, we are making a difference.

Our weekly Teen Club takes a lot of work from several people to make for a impactful time. This past Thursday was no exception. At LifeBuilders, we pour our hearts into serving our kids. Javen, who loves these teens, delivered a powerful message on servanthood: 'Service is not the pathway to greatness, service IS greatness.' Let's answer the call to serve like Jesus. Exciting news! 🌟 This Friday and Saturday, we're thrilled to welcome our longtime partners, Heritage Church, as they join us for a two-day volunteering extravaganza! With nearly 200 volunteers signed up, the energy and enthusiasm are palpable. Noah had the honor of sharing LifeBuilders' mission with over 3100 congregants across four Sunday services, igniting hearts with our vision for community restoration. Their benevolence offerings will fund the tools and supplies needed for our projects and much more. Plus, they're hosting a special community event on Saturday for Regent Park—how amazing is that? 🎉 With our roots intertwined through the years, including our co-founders' involvement in Heritage's beginning, we're deeply grateful for their continued support and partnership. Spreading smiles and sharing the love of God! 😊 Our After-School Bible Club is a favorite among our 1st-5th graders. Daeshon (2nd grade) told us just this week "I just love coming to Bible Club, it's my favorite thing to do." Our Reaching Higher graduation was a celebration of growth and empowerment! 💫 Students went from overcoming fears to conquering them. Seeing parents' tears of joy as they watched their children shine and share their experiences was truly heartwarming. We are extremely proud of these priceless lessons in self development these individuals learned from this program. Here's to conquering fears and embracing limitless possibilities!🎓
