Good weather is still here! Don’t give up the hunt for a good bike yet or pack yours in for the season! We always have a rotating stock of bikes in The Hub and we love to see them find a good home. These are here this morning, maybe gone this evening?!?

We are open today and tomorrow 12-6pm. Back Alley Bikes & The Hub will be closed this Sunday( 9/1 ) for Labor Day and will resume our regular hours next week Thursday!

Wrench Tonite!

Yesterday we had an amazing group of novice cyclers withstand the heat to learn safe riding practices, how to identify parts of a bike and increase their confidence to make bicycle adjustments on their own. We are so thankful to all the participants for being so enthusiastic and can’t wait to see them out riding.

Wrench tonite will hopefully be held quarterly, so be on the lookout for information if you’d like to come wrench with us!

Huge shoutout to our instructors , , for sharing their knowledge, for keeping the class on track for creating a community space to learn in, for their full support and for providing safe cycling guides to our students! Special thanks to for documenting it all!

Seriously thank you for the great garage sale yesterday! Glad to see so many people getting a first bike in years, a second bike, a bike for a friend! Here’s some pictures from the event. Next week we will be open Thursday thru Saturday 12-6 and both The Hub and Back Alley will be closed on Sunday so we can enjoy some Labor Day weekend time!

We Sold Out! Thank you guys for making this day so successful, WE ARE CLOSING EARLY. We will see yall tomorrow from 12-5 for DIY or at the Hub!

This Saturday is the garage sale! It will be held upstairs in the Back Alley Bikes space, doors will be open at 12 and we will be selling bikes until 4pm. The bikes will be sold as is, they have all been adjusted by your strong volunteer force, there will also be a small selection of Locks and Lights available for purchase as well. The Hub will be closed while we are running the sale but will be back open on Sunday from 12-5 along with DIY open shop.

Next Saturday! We look forward to seeing everyone at the garage sale, bikes starting at $25 and going up from there. Doors open at 12 and will be open till 4 in the Back Alley Bikes space. We will also have locks and Lights available for purchase as well!

Just over a month ago we worked with to give away some kids bike at their newest city park in virgina park! What a cool experience, again we couldn’t do this without our great donors and volunteers!

Hey folks! We realized yesterday at the end of the day that our phone had been down all day 😵‍💫 if you dropped your bike off for service on Sunday and were expecting a quote or your bike to be completed we will call you Thursday morning! Just a heads up we will be closed tomorrow, that being said we will be open Sunday 12-5 for flat fixes and drop offs, DIY open shop @ back alley will also be as normal on Sunday

Volunteer night is upon us! Kicks off at 5pm and rolls to 8, we will be getting bikes ready for the upcoming garage sale and kids bike giveaway away!

GARAGE SALE! August 24th Starting at 12 and running till 4 we will have bikes available to purchase in the Back Alley Space, these are bikes that our volunteers have helped us fix up over the summer and they will be starting at $25 and going up from there in $25 dollar increments. We will also have locks and other small accessories available for purchase as The Hub will be closed that day. Look forward to seeing y’all then or maybe before hand!

Attention bike nerds! We have some cool used bling available down in The Hub, we will be adding stuff as things sell but check out what’s in the display to start!

We’ve got some of the hardest working volunteers in town and we do appreciate that! Don’t forget volunteer hours are Thursday evening from 5-8 and we are now looking for volunteers to help on Sunday from 12-5!

What’s up people of the internet! We are adding another day to our open hours at The Hub, We will now also have the shop open on Sundays from 12-5 running at the same time as DIY open shop so you can purchase new parts to install on bikes. Service wise we will be able to only do flats since there will be one person operating the shop. Our schedule will now look like BAB volunteer hours 5-8 and DIY open shop Sunday 12-5 and The Hub 12-6 Thursday- Saturday and Sunday 12-5. Thanks for cranking with us 😆

Some really great bikes found some really great homes, as you know DIY open shop is closed Today but next week we will back in full swing with Regular volunteer hours on Thursday from 5-8 and Sunday DIY open shop 12, with The Hub operating Thursday-Saturday 12-6. Reminder we will be closed for 4th of July but will have regular hours Friday and Saturday(12-6). We will also be giving our staff Sunday the 7th off to catch their breath after a busy summer so far. Cheers!
