The Douglas County Board of Elections will be hosting a voter information and outreach event titled "This is your Democracy" at the Woodie Fite Senior Center on Wednesday, March 22nd from 6pm until 8pm. All are welcome to attend
The Douglas County Board of Elections would like to introduce its newest member:
Mr. Chad A. Word was sworn in by Judge Christina Peterson as the newest Douglas County Elections and Registration Board Member for a four-year term on January 10, 2023.
Along with the other Board Members, Chad has a heart to serve the people of Douglas County in this new role. He has experience in Elections, having served as a Poll Worker, Assistant Manager, and Poll Manager at Dog River Library.
Chad and his wife Rachael have been married for 27 years. They have a son Levi, and a daughter Olivia who were present when he swore in.
Chad is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and has moved 19 times in his professional career. This family has lived in the City of Douglasville for 11 years. Chad is an active Deacon and Bible study leader at First Baptist Villa Rica.
Chad has worked for Jacobs Engineering for 20 years currently managing the ESPLOST capital program for Fulton County Schools. He also moonlights as a health coach to empower people to lose weight and live healthy lifestyles.
Chad has a B.S. in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University and enjoys family time, travel, hanging with friends, being in church, bike riding, golf, and genealogy.

Friday, October 28th is the deadline to submit an application for an absentee by mail ballot for the November 8th General/Special Election. Applications must be in our office by close of business.
Saturday Voting is available until 6pm today at Woodie Fite Senior Center, Dog River Library, Deer Lick Park and the Douglas County Courthouse.

REMINDER: the voter registration deadline for the 24 May Primary Election is MONDAY, 25 April 2022. Voter registrations must be in our office by close of business or postmarked by the post office on 25 April.

Please welcome our newest Board member, Ms. Michele Crochetiere:
Michele Crochetiere is an innovative and authentic multifamily housing industry leader with over 20 years experience in technology, operations, and leadership roles including affordable, student, and conventional asset types. Michele started her career in Western Massachusetts for a large owner operator and worked for several companies including Aspen Square Management, The YWCA and Cortland.
Michele has her MBA From Bay Path University with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation. She also holds several certifications in affordable housing and change management.
Giving back to the community is a critical importance to Michele so she spends her spare time on boards and volunteering for Rebuilding Together Atlanta, Catholic Charities, and her local church.
Michele lives in Villa Rica with her fiancé Dave, and her rescue dog Vinny.
The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, in conjunction with the Douglas County Board of Elections, will be hosting a Voter Registration Drive on Saturday, March 26th from 10am-4pm.
