In years past we had no choice but to stop registering children to allocate them to distributing venues and make sure gifts were picked up in the right amounts. Thanks to IT Elf Alex Plattel we are registering last minute over 350 kids routed to Heirway Christian Academy to receive on Saturday. Thanks to Heirway and CKS Packaging Maximum Impact as we transport the gifts now in real time as you read this post

For the past few years Paul Zachos of Faith in Action and The Elf Squad has had a heart to provide some very special children with new winter coats, partnering with Burlington Coat Factory and several local businesses. This year we are blessed to announce that 336 children who are either residents of Youth Villages in Douglasville or Douglas County foster children are receiving NEW winter coats. Special thanks go to Stallings Insurance of Douglasville, Benning Construction of Atlanta, Harrison Contracting out of Villa Rica, and the Sherrod & Bernard law firm of Douglasville. Well done, good and faithful servants!

Once again the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta have come through with gift cards for our teenagers. Remember the event is this Saturday at multiple locations in Douglas County you can send someone with your golden ticket to your venue if you are unable, most of our teen gift boxes contain Gift Cards please come receive your blessings!!!

2021’s Golden Tickets, which are electronic, are being sent out now!

On Saturday, December 11th, in partnership with Faith in Action Douglas County, Georgia and The Elf Squad we again have the opportunity to join with our community and city (churches, community and civic organizations, and private citizens) to ensure that every child in Douglas County has a gift to open on Christmas Day. The program has served over 36,000 children in the last four years at numerous venues.

Operation Christmas serves Douglas County children who:
• receive free and reduced price meals at school
• are homeless
• are in the Head Start program
• receive WIC or other services at the Douglas County Health Department

Douglasville Police Department Sergeant Dean and PetSmart are still working hard to help Judge McClain with Operation Christmas a.k.a. The Elf Squad. We loaded up his truck full of 🦥🦉stuffed animals🐱🐶🐲 generously donated by the citizens of Douglas County. Working together we all make a great team!!

We slow down FIA during Operation Christmas (you may not know we do both) because we are so busy, but when a mom coming out of a homeless shelter into housing with four children sleeping on the floor reached out to us, we simply could not say no. This family might be your neighbors. Rarely do we know someone's whole story enough to make a final judgment. What we do know is these kids slept in their beds last night instead of on the floor.

Good Samaritan Center is a registered 501c3 emergency assistance ministry offering food and other aid/resources in the name of Jesus Christ. We are open Monday - Friday for 35 years!

Now Offering an additional food pickup time Thursday evenings from 5-7pm!

We accept new, unopened food donations in person during normal operating hours. We also accept monetary donations in person as well as via PayPal.

FIA is thankful for Pastor James Harper, Pastor Andrew Dickinson, and the members of First Presbyterian Church who recently came out and helped us complete 14 projects all over the city. Here we are serving multiple families on James D. Simpson Avenue in Douglasville. The church also completed numerous service projects at other locations.
