Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas Inc. will be bringing you 2 great events for 2024 - Tree Lighting on November 30th and Christmas Parade on December 14th. We need volunteers to make these events continue to happen. IM us if you are interested or have questions! Meetings are starting soon!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Thank you to every business that took the time to decorate this year. It was a hard decision, as there were a number of beautifully decorated businesses, but I think our team of judges did a wonderful job coming up with this year's winners.

There are only a few days left to get your storefront ready for the DGNC Storefront Decorating Contest. You must be in the Borough of Downingtown and decorations need to be in place by Friday morning, December 15 as our judges will be traveling around the Borough looking for the best of the best!!

What a fantastic 2023 Christmas Parade! We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks to our Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas, Inc. volunteers, participants and generous sponsors who made this all possible.

It’s Game D……err…..Parade Day!!! 🤩

The parade starts on the west end of town at 3pm and will travel east towards East Ward, along Lancaster Avenue.

We are looking forward to all of your smiling faces! Downingtown always shows up and we’re excited to help you and your families celebrate the holiday season!

Tomorrow is parade day! There’s excitement in the air!!

A number of you have also asked about parking for the parade. To be honest - we never watch the parade so we don’t know the best spots lol. That said, there are 4 larger municipal lots in the Borough that you could park at tomorrow - 1 next to Estrella, 2 in Kerr Park, and 1 in Johnsontown Park.

There are so many fantastic groups signed up to be in this year's parade and we can’t wait for you to see them! We have tons of floats, walking groups, unique vehicles, dance and cheer groups, trucks from our local fire companies, and antique vehicles!

Today, I would like to recognize the tireless work of the Parade Committee, who have been meeting monthly since July to help make this year’s parade a success! These 9 people do a lot of work behind the scenes so that the parade happens each year.

So - a HUGE THANK YOU to Joyce, Dan, Ann, Denise, John, Carolyn, Angela, Dianne, and Steve! We couldn’t do this without you!

I also want to thank our day-of parade volunteers who help direct parade participants at the start and end of the parade as well as carry banners during the parade! Your help is invaluable!!

Can you believe that we are just 6 days from the 2023 Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas Parade!??!!! We hope that you’re as excited as we are for this year’s parade, which will take place on Saturday 12/9, starting near Beaver Creek Elementary School at 3pm.

As we count down to parade day, we want to take a moment to introduce the Grand Marshall of the 2023 Christmas Parade, Mr. Sam Graveno! You may have heard of Sam earlier this year when he celebrated his 100th birthday!

Santa is in town on Saturday!

Businesses must be in the Borough of Downingtown. No registration is required to be in the contest. Any business that is decorated will be judged. The committee will be going out during the day and evening hours on December 15 to do the judging. If by chance your business isn’t along a major street through the Borough, please email [email protected] to let us know where you are so we don’t miss you!!!

What a great night for Downingtown! Last night's Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas Tree Lighting was our best ever! Up next is our Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 9th @ 3pm.

Downingtown Good Neighbor Christmas Parade is just 2 weeks away! The parade starts at 3:00 pm running along Lancaster Avenue. It starts at Gable Avenue in the west end and finishes at Whiteland Avenue in the east end. Great viewing from any location along the route. Still interested in being in the parade?? IT'S HAPPENING TONIGHT!!! Join us for the Annual Tree Lighting in the field and parking lot behind the Log House. Event runs from 6 - 7:30 pm. Santa arrives at 6:45 for a very short visit. Dress warm - it looks like Santa brought that North Pole "chill" with him!!

The first Christmas event is just around the corner!! Hope to see you all there! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
