Clean water is essential to a healthy ecosystem and a thriving community.
One of our Nonprofit Member North Carolina Coastal Federation teamed up with Coastal Stormwater Services Inc. to improve run-off during severe storms, a major source of water pollution.
The team designed a system that pumps groundwater from the town to the Crystal Coast Country Club’s golf course. If a large-scale rainfall event is forecasted, the system preemptively draws down groundwater and pond storage space to prepare for flooding without discharging to the sound.

Land Conservation is another core focus of EarthShare NC’s mission. We are dedicated to conserving and protecting native North Carolina land so that many can live healthy lives here for generations to come.
A great example of this work is the work of one of our Members Urban Community AgriNomics (UCAN). UCAN inspires youth and adults to appreciate agriculture and the environment through access to their community garden, educational programs, outreach activities and free food distributions. They believe that an awareness of the human role in climate change and impact on our world can come with small immersive steps into the world of nature.
UCAN is one of the many examples of how we are working to protect our North Carolina landscape. We welcome you to join us in supporting this critical work this giving season.
It's NC Climate Week! This week we have corporate partners, nonprofit members, board of directors, and friends participating in this newly launched program, providing individuals and companies with the tools and knowledge to take climate action.
Not participating? No problem! Share with us below how you're taking climate action this week on your own, in your community or at work. You can also support this work with a donation. Take action for our community!
