Superstar CTD mentor Rebekah Callari-Kaczmarczyk recently presented at the React Rally conference on transitioning her dev team at the Phillies from using high-level plotting tools in React to a low-level D3 wrapper. At Code the Dream, our CTD Labs Apprentices do demanding work on real projects for real clients, gaining the kind of experience that augments the education and work experience they already have. It's a great program, but it wouldn't work if we didn't have awesome apprentices like Asaia Palacios.
Thank you to our friends in Cary, NC for a wonderful fundraising event. Musical guests Ravi Gooty and Prajakta Joshi of MusicAura (2nd and 4th from the right) had everyone dancing and helped raise $15,000 for Code the Dream. Co-Executive Director Daisy Magnus-Aryitey and CTD alums and current staffers Narayan Rai and Andrea Hernandez Gomez joined in on the festivities and spoke about CTD's mission to provide training and an alternative career pathway in tech to people from diverse, low-income communities across the US.
