Here’s another 10th anniversary photo dump from the early days of The Glass Jug Beer Lab - RTP, including our brewery addition in 2018 and the buildout of The Glass Jug Beer Lab - Downtown Durham in 2021.

We’ll keep sharing some of our favorite photos from our first 10 years as we get ever closer to our 10 days of anniversary celebrations.

It all kicks off Labor Day weekend and wraps up with our 10th anniversary Oktoberfest party on Saturday, September 7th at RTP.

10 years and we haven’t aged a bit!

Here’s a few snapshots from our first couple of years at The Glass Jug Beer Lab - RTP. We’ll share a few each week as we get closer to our 10th Anniversary celebrations happening from Labor Day weekend through our 10th Anniversary Oktoberfest Celebration on Saturday, September 7th!

We’re ready to dance! Featured on stage will be Raleigh party band K-Bomb & The Kool Whips with a mix of pop, rock and dance hits. And Cousin’s Maine Lobster Truck is back for a rare Saturday appearance serving up their tasty lobster rolls and shrimp dishes in the beer garden. You can’t miss this party!

Outside - grab a draft pour from our mobile beer trailer or inside - grab a specialty flight designed for this event featuring 4 drinks in the 9oz wine sized plastic cups for $16 with a selected cider, seltzer, ginger beer and sour.

Nucleation Point Agave Pale Ale, at 5.4% ABV, just hit the taps at both locations! A collaboration with the White Street Brewer’s Guild Homebrew Club, this American Pale Ale features a medley of West Coast US hops - Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, & El Dorado, for a bold, complex hop kick. Moderately bitter with notes of grapefruit, pine, and citrus zest. We also added real agave nectar into the whirlpool, which results in a drier, crisp finish, and just a hint of that unique agave flavor. Try a pint before it’s gone!

Fresh cans & draft of our favorite gluten-free mid-summer quencher, Harper’s Pineapple Habanero, are hitting the taprooms this weekend! Stock up on cans for another hot weekend and enjoy the perfect balance of sweet pineapple paired with a slight kick of habanero that lifts that ginger zip right off your tongue!

Get ready to set sail with the July edition of Beer Garden Jam Sessions - Yacht Party! The night features Heavy Weather, a Yacht Rock band from Raleigh with their 3rd summer appearance at Glass Jug RTP. Food Truck and the Glass Jug Mobile Bar will be serving outside from 4 - 8pm. Music starts at 5pm and the night is free for all ages to attend. Meet Batch 299, the newest entry into the Batch IPA series which utilizes a cutting-edge hop product. We replaced a portion of our normal dry hopping with Amarillo hop oil extract. This is 100% of the essential oils from the hop plant that give it the distinct flavor, and it has been completely separated from all of the vegetal matter, resulting in a more concentrated flavor and a higher batch yield (as there are no solid hop particles to soak up our liquid beer). The combination of the Amarillo hop oil extract and the Ekuanot hops in the dry hop create a big hop-forward aroma of orange zest, grapefruit, and ripe melon. Our annual Yacht Party with Heavy Weather Band & Burgers is returning to the beer garden at next Saturday, July 13th! We’ll be featuring our FRESH Seltzers, frozen boozy slushies, fruited sours, and all of your favorite boat drinks, while enjoying all of the classic yacht rock cover tunes under the misters in the beer garden from 4-8 PM. Come set sail with us!

🇺🇸 We’ve got big plans for Independence Day Weekend! Both taprooms are featuring some great specials like Jell-O shots and red, white and blue slushies like above. Plus we’re partnering with to supply beverages (alcoholic and kid-friendly NA drinks) at the annual Children’s Parade, and we’re donating free hotdogs that we’ll be grilling and giving away after the parade - we just ask that you please make a suggested $3 donation to Durham Central Park to support the July 4th event and all of the other amazing programing they provide! If you were to perfectly merge a Belgian Witbier with an American IPA, you’d end up with our newest limited-release - Alto Sax. This White IPA with fresh orange zest hits all the right notes. The perfect amount of ho-forward punch, balanced perfectly with the subtle wheat and fruity esters of the Belgian wit yeast. Grab a pint at either taproom this weekend!

Catch us at the this Saturday morning for some free samples and to buy some 4-packs of fresh local beer to go with your all of the other amazing fresh local items at the market! It’s their last Saturday at Greenwood Commons before they move so come join us to say goodbye to our friends!

So Simply, a brand new easy-drinking hazy pale ale, is now available downtown and coming soon to RTP! This recipe came to us from our partnership with Brewery in Durham, UK, through a collaborative effort with the Sister Cities of Durham. If you missed its debut at the Two Durhams Beer Festival last week, don’t worry, it’ll be on tap at both taprooms for the next few weeks. A hazy, juicy, tropical pale ale that is a great summer sipper!

🇺🇸We’re partnering up with our pals at to make this year’s Children’s Independence Day Parade the best one yet! Not only will be open early in the park with some morning beverages (alcoholic and NA) during the festivities, but we’re also grilling and donating hot dogs starting around 11 am outside our taproom. Hotdogs are free with a suggested donation of $3 to Durham Central Park. Look for our tent and stop by while supplies last!

All Too Well is a super fresh hazy IPA that was heavily double dry-hopped with New Zealand Wakatu & Kohatu hops for a brig, bright lemon citrus hop burst with notes of pineapple and mango on top of a smooth, creamy body with hints of oats and whole-grain bread. 🍓Strawberry Basil Pi is returning for the summer! This tart, crisp, and refreshing gose-style sour ale is the perfect poolside companion. Just enough tartness and salinity to really make the strawberry pop. The basil adds a complimentary herbaceous note that really ties it all together, making for a wonderfully unique summer beer that we look forward to every year.
