Elmo's will be closed again Friday, 9/15. We can see figurative light at the end of the literal tunnel, but there is much work yet to be done.
We will be closed Thursday, September 14th. Our "small" repair has unfortunately grown into a larger repair. We are working on it as quickly as possible!
We were unexpectedly forced to close today, Wednesday the 13th, for more repairs. We are expecting to be open normally Thursday. We appreciate your patience (and any good vibes you can send our way!)

It's time for another season of Spirit Mursday, starting this week!
Elmo's will be open regular hours (7am-3pm) on Tuesday for July 4th.
Elmo's is open regular hours (7am-3pm) this Monday, June 19th for the Juneteenth holiday.
Elmo's is open regular hours (7am-3pm) for Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th.
We will be open regular hours for Good Friday (7am-3pm) and Easter Weekend (7am-3:30pm).
We will open at 8am instead of 7am Sunday, March 12th, for Daylight Savings. We’ll close at 3:30 as usual.
Elmo’s will close at 2:00pm today, Wednesday February 8th, to finish some work on our dishwasher. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Elmo’s Diner has been a local Durham favorite for more than twenty years, with the vast majority of our business being repeat customers. You are our friends and our neighbors, and we want you to feel good about eating at Elmo’s. We pride ourselves on giving friendly, efficient service and on serving fresh, delicious food – like you would make at home if you had the time! We don’t use mixes or “instant” meals. Desserts and soups are made from scratch too–some folks even call on a regular basis to find out if their favorite cobbler is the special that day!
Like a true family diner, we have comfy booths, but also tables and lots of boosters and high chairs for your little ones. We have raised a lot of our young regular customers (and even some employees) from scratch too! When your family comes to town, we want you to be excited to bring them to YOUR local diner. You don’t have to be “a regular” to eat at Elmo’s, but we will try hard to make you one!
