I wanted you all to see how UpNeeq can help correct upper eyelid ptosis. The plan was for a brow lift. Needless to say, I failed miserably!! I injected too deep and this affected her levator muscle (the one responsible for eyelid elevation) she ended up with a ptosis (drooping) of her upper lid. This is temporary and lasts much less time than a full neurotoxin dose (remember dose equals duration 🙏) but is seriously annoying 😞 eyelid ptosis is different than a brow ptosis, and the treatment is not the same. The idea of beauty has transcended the passage of time and cultures. We are bombarded every single day with beauty devices, products, and procedures making big claims to give you this or that which you seek. And, we have all heard that old clique that beauty is in the eye of the beholder…but perhaps there is much more to beauty than just one’s physical appearance. A brief conversation with a friend on this very topic, got me thinking more about the psychology of beauty. I am results oriented and without understanding the why, I think it is hard to deliver the requested outcome.

Very often in my practice I will get shown photos of various attributes that a patient would like to attain in their own appearance. The problem(s) with internet photos, is the difficulty of verifying the authenticity of the photo. It’s likely most of them have been altered in some fashion. For those seeking to change or improve their appearance, aesthetic medicine can yield satisfactory results through a variety of modalities. But what is the driving force behind these requests? The goal of this evaluation is to give you more information to develop a meaningful base for your next aesthetic request.
