Student Spotlight: Felipe Befeler🔎
“Hey everybody I’m Felipe and I’m from Costa Rica! During the summer, I was a food and beverage supervisor intern in Traverse City, where I learned how to manage people and make amazing cocktails in a lakeside city for different kinds of guests! The best part was seeing my usuals coming in and talking with them :)
From this internship I learned how to expect a service from a guest, and how to satisfy that service. It was a unique opportunity that allowed me to anticipate the guest's needs and bring them a great memory!
While bartending, I learned how to pour a shot (1.5oz) without using a jigger or a measurer!”
Start the season of giving off right with donating to HA’s Toys for Tots event! Running now until December 2nd, drop off new toys or money to SIRC to support this great cause!🧸🪁🪀 🎁
Student Spotlight: Autumn Mellino🔎
"This past summer I studied abroad in Santander, Spain where I took 3 Spanish classes to finish my Spanish minor. My favorite part of the trip was all the excursions we went on in the area, like when we went to Picos de Europa, which is basically one of Spain's national parks. The most beneficial part of the trip was improving my spanish speaking skills which has made me more comfortable speaking spanish at work. I'd highly recommend learning multiple languages to anyone looking to go into hospitality.”
