Congratulations to Ms. Emily Medina for her Advisor of the Year Award! She is John A. Holmes High Schoolโs first college advisor through the NC State Universityโs College Advising Corps program. We are extremely proud of her and thankful she chose JAH as her work site.
Thank you to Mr. Burroughs for presenting our music department with a check for proceeds from this yearโs Singing Valentines! We are blessed with the community support for the art and music programs at JAH!

Important information for seniors and their families
Seniors-
Reminder that we have graduation practice at 9:00 am on the football field tomorrow, June 6th. You can wear regular clothes. You do not have to have your cap and gown for the practice. It will take approximately 1 and 1/2 hours. Please be prompt as we cannot start until everyone is in attendance.
Jonathan Spears, Class of 2024, was the speaker for the 8th grade continuation ceremony today at Chowan Middle School. He did an excellent job and we are proud of him for sharing his words of wisdom.

The time is almost here for GRADUATION DAY - June 7th! We are excited to celebrate with our senior families and entire community! Please note the updated parking map for the event. Gates will open at 5:45pm and close at 6:50pm prior to the 7pm start time. Make plans now to get there early and celebrate the success of the ACES Class of 2024!

We are so proud of this group of eight students who just passed their written and skills exams as they are now Certified Nursing Assistants. We are super proud of them!! ๐๐๐๐
Congratulations to Mrs. Learyโs Veterinary Assisting Students! 100% of the class passed their Veterinary Medical Applications Certification! In addition to this achievement, 5 students completed 78 skills needed in Veterinary Medical Practice and over 300 hours of clinical work in a Veterinary office. Those 5 students will take the Texas Veterinary Medical Association Certified Veterinary Assitant test later this month and will be Certified Veterinary Assistants!

The prize patrol rolled up to the CTE wing yesterday to surprise the most deserving ACE! Congratulations LaQuanda Leary for being named John A. Holmes Teacher of the Year! ๐๐๐๐

John A. Holmes High School had four seniors graduate last week from College of the Albemarle with their Associate of Arts degree. We are extremely proud of Brissa, Damaris, Ellie, and Trent and all of their hard work. Damaris was the President's Cup winner.
