Message from: California Department of Social Services
Primary Audience: ALL CCLD LICENSEES AND PROVIDERS
CCLD would like to share the following COVID-19 testing and treatment resources and respiratory virus toolkits provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
As respiratory virus cases rise this winter, please share and use these resources to remind persons in care, and if applicable, their representatives, home care clients and staff that effective COVID-19 medications are available.
COVID-19 Testing and Medications
If you feel sick, act fast to test for COVID-19. Learn more at the How to Get Tested website. If you test positive, reach out to your health care provider, urgent care center, pharmacy, or the CDPH Call Center at 833-422-4255 and ask about COVID-19 medications. Do not wait for symptoms to get worse. The medications must be started within the first 5 days of symptoms to be effective.
COVID-19 medications are effective at treating COVID-19 to prevent serious illness. They are recommended for most adults and some teens. The medications are particularly effective in elderly and immunocompromised people. While government-purchased supplies last, they remain available for free, whether or not you have insurance or citizenship status.
If you have difficulties accessing COVID-19 medication, you can make a free phone or video appointment with a health care provider through California’s COVID-19 telehealth service by visiting sesamecare.com/covid19 or calling 1-855-780-3855.
Learn more about COVID-19 medications at covid19.ca.gov/treatment.
CDPH COVID-19 and Respiratory Virus Toolkits
The following toolkits include multilingual handouts, videos, wallet cards and graphics that licensees and providers may find helpful:
COVID-19 Treatments Communication Tools
Respiratory Virus Prevention Communication Tools
Treatment Resources for Long-Term Care Facilities
Note: Licensees and providers may co-brand the materials in these toolkits by adding their organization’s logo near the CDPH logo. Materials may not be altered or edited in any other way, including removal or adjustment of the CDPH logo.
Additional Information and Questions
Please continue to monitor the CCLD COVID-19 Information and Resources webpage for updated information regarding COVID-19.
