WE DID IT...200 KIDS ADOPTED TO TAKE TO THE MOVIES!!! Soroptimist International of Imperial Valley would like to thank all the organizations, businesses and individuals who came together and generously adopted a kid to take to the movies to our Christmas At The Movies Event. Thank you to all our generous donors, sponsors and the Movies Imperial for the support of our holiday project "Christmas At The Movies". We are incredibly touched by the outpouring of support for this project. We currently have 200 children that will be attending this event and have 105 adopted by our community members. We are halfway there in getting all 200 of these children adopted for the holidays. Deadline for donations is December 1, 2023. Soroptimist International of El Centro would like to take this time to honor those men and women we lost on September 11, 2001. Our club decided to participate in the IV 9/11 Stairclimb to honor those we lost on that fatefull day. Thank you to the IV_Stair_Climb_Committee for putting on this memorial event, it was such an honor for our club to be present and to show our dedication and support. Thank you to the Imperial Valley first responders and various other organizations for their work in organizing this event and for helping make it a success. We will never forget.

Soroptimist International of El Centro invites you to join us for an evening of courage and determination from s*x trafficking survivor and author Jazz Ledbetter as she shares her story of overcoming exploitation from her autobiography "Harlot Heart: Tributes to Triumph". This event will also feature guest speakers Supervisory Agent Michael Harvey and Executive Director of WomanHaven Gina Vargas who will address the impact of s*x trafficking in the Imperial Valley. This event will be a symposium of the effect of s*x trafficking in our community, as well as the promoting awareness, prevention and resources available to combat it. This is an 18 and over event only due to the sensitive nature of the topics that will be discussed. Registration is $20 through Eventbrite at :

Busy Day for our Soroptimist Sisters!!! We celebrate Women's Equality Day by doing our best to support our local community and encourage women to run for office! So glad we were able to have representation from our club members at the COLAB Imperial Candidate's Training Workshop and at the Imperial County Association of REALTORS Spare the Pets Bowling Tournament with 2 bowling teams!!! Awesome job ladies getting out there and showing our community that Soroptimist International of El Centro cares!!!

Soroptimist International of El Centro would like to thank all the women and girls that attended our Women's Equality Day photo on Tuesday August 22, 2023 on the steps of the Imperial County Superior Court in El Centro California at 6pm. This photo was coordinated to celebrate 103 years of women's right to vote and commemorates the women's suffrage movement by wearing white. For those that weren't able to attend, it is our sincerest hope that you will join us next year and if you still want to participate, please post a picture with all the women in your life wearing white to celebrate "Women Eguality Day" this Saturday August 26, 2023.
