A lot of people ask me if I cut curly hair. The answer is yes!

How do I know Iβm using the right products for my hair type?
The easy answer is, if you are happy with how your hair looks and feels you are using the products.
On the other hand, if you are struggling with issues like dry hair, lots of frizz, oily scalp or just can't get your hair to look right you are using the wrong products.
The products you choose for your hair will depend on two factors: hair type and daily routine/styling.You should always bring up any concerns or issues with your stylist so they can help troubleshoot and recommend new products.
If you are struggling with your hair care routine you can always book a free consultation using the link in my bio and we can go over the best products for you.
3 Tips for picking a great inspiration picture:
πΈ The length and density of your hair matches the hair in the picture. This will help create consistency with placement and how we can visualize it on your hair.
πΈ You can see both the front and the back of the hair. Or pick two similar pictures. With hair color being so customizable, it is good to have a reference photo for both the front and the back.
πΈ Your natural hair color is the same (or close) to the models natural hair color. This is important for balayage and highlight inspiration pictures. Choosing a model with similar hair will help ensure that the color you want is achievable for you.
With so much terminology in the hair world, inspiration photos help us communicate effectively. They allow us to be on the same page before the appointment even starts which is essential for great results.

Happy Friday! What is everyone up to this weekend?
We are going on a date Saturday to see the movie Killing of Flower Moon. Have you seen it yet?
If you struggle with dry scalp and hair during the winter months this is for you.
1. Avoid the hot water showers. I know it's cold and there is nothing better than getting into that hot steaming water but it's damaging your hair and drying out your skin, including your scalp.
2. Drink lots of water. We all know water is good for you but did you know your water intake can affect your hair? Drink up to keep it hydrated!
3. Use a weekly mask on your hair or leave in your regular conditioner in for 15 minutes before rinsing. This will keep your hair moisturized. You can even put a small amount of conditioner on your scalp!

This is what 6 months of healthy hair growth looks like.
We do a trim every 12 weeks, which to some people may seem like a lot. But in reality your hair will still get to your ideal length while staying healthy.
Are you on a healthy hair journey?

Dry Cut Only: this is the difference taking off the dead ends can make.
We chose to do a dry cut so we could really see where the hair was laying naturally and what needed to come off.
If it's your first time doing gray coverage you probably want to know what the best option is.
In my opinion, if you are starting out with gray coverage, I always suggest using a semi-permanent color first.
Semi-permanent hair color will not obliterate your grays but help to blend them.
This is the best option because it is low maintenance and gives a softer grow out.

The salon experience just got upgraded with RosΓ© and all new treatments.
Sometimes big changes don't have to be complicated or time consuming.
We did and all over color taking my guest from black hair to a chocolate brown.
Are you starting to get a few gray hairs here and there? This post is for you!
A lot of first time gray coverage clients come in and want to know what the best option is for them.
In my opinion, if you are starting out with gray coverage, I always suggest using a semi-permanent color first.
Semi-permanent hair color will not obliterate your grays but help to blend them.
I think this is the best option because it is low maintenance (needs touching up every 12weeks) and gives a softer/ less obvious grow out.
Would you try this when the time came?
Innersence is an organic product line. Here are 3 of my favorite products:
1. True Enlightenment Scalp Scrub- this product has endless benefits from helping remove build up, nourishing dry scalp/ itchy scalp, and preventing hair loss.
2. I create Shine- does just what it states, adds shine and helps with frizz. Not to mention it smells like jasmine.
3. Quiet Calm Curl Control - this is great for hydrating your curls and bringing them out.

Ever considered going Red? 3 things you need to know before making the switch.
1. Most people do not realize this, but red is a high maintenance color that needs to be touched up every 6-8 weeks.
2. Reds fade fast! If you swipe for the before pic you can see just how fast in 6 short weeks. This means you should follow at home care instructions given to you by your stylist.
3. You should be fully committed to having red hair for at least a year. While reds fade fast they are extremely difficult to get out. This is not a color to "just try out".
If you are wanting to switch up your hair color use the link in bio to book a consultation. During that appointment we can talk in depth about what maintenance is required for the color you are wanting.
When you can pick a favorite pic... You just do a carousel.
Have you tried Olipop before? It's a prebiotic, plant based soda that's really delicious π.
Currently at the salon I have Cherry Cola, Orange Squeeze and Strawberry & Cream.
What's your favorite flavor?
Today we tackled 1 of the 3 main causes of frizz. Split ends.
It had been a while since her last haircut. We took off about an inch of length and cleaned up her layers removing all of the frizz/ split ends in our before photo.
The two other causes of frizz are using the wrong products and damage to the hair shaft from either heat or chemicals.
If you are constantly fighting frizz, there is a solution! Book your next appointment using the link in bio and let's tackle your specific hair issues.
