West Texas Tails Rescue
We are a rescue located in El Paso, Texas. We were established 02/02/2020. Our pups are all spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focusing on giving animals a second chance at a great life they deserve. Our adoption and/or foster process consists of an application, home visit, and a $200 adoption fee(for adoptions only). We also provide them with any necessary medical attention while in our care. Unfortunately, we are not taking in owner surrenders.
ADOPT JADE: Jade is a shy but happy introvert. She LOVESSSSS KIDS almost as much as apples. She's friendly with other dogs. She was at risk at the shelter and we pulled her from the euthanasia list. She was at risk because she was terrified of everything. She has clearly overcome a lot of trauma and still gets scared with loud noises but she loves getting cuddles from people. She's pretty low maintenance. ADOPT JADE.

Drogo and Nala are STILL missing. They were last seen AUGUST 9th by UTEP. It was an innocent mistake- the dogs were frightened by contractors working and slipped out. They are DEARLY Missed. Drogo is a pure gentleman he really hates messes- if he spills water he tries to mop it up with his toys, he's very sweet he is a little shy but such a sweet boy. Nala is a beautiful ball of energy. She LOVES watching GOT and following the dragons, her green eyes and ear flip will melt your heart. Please continue to share and post. NO QUESTIONS ASKED WE JUST WANT THEM BACK. Their dad misses them so much.

We have been over capacity like every other rescue. We are over capacity, and we're really not in a position to take in any new dogs. We got a message from someone begging for help to give this girl a chance. Scarlet was found in a ranch. Was she dumped? Who knows, but it's possible. She's still alive, but her prognosis is guarded. She was rushed to Animal Emergency on Airway, where she had a seizure from her low glucose levels. She tested negative for the parvo virus, but the doctor still thinks it's parvo. For right now, they're going to treat her as a parvo patient to try and stabilize her and get more answers.
We asked about quality of life. The doctor says Scarlet is fighting, and she might be able to get better. If Scarlet declines more, and the doctor thinks euthanasia is in her best interest, we'll decide that then.
We are looking at around $2,800 for her treatment and hospitalization for now. We are fighting this fight along with sweet Scarlet.
We would greatly appreciate donations to assist with Scarlet's vet bill, and even a share will help.
Updates to follow!

Meet Nala: Nala is a very sweet girl who was rescued from a parking lot in the middle of summer 112° the day we found her. Fast forward 6 months she is healthy and happy but lacks proper boundaries and is in need of training before we feel she is ready for her forever family. Our goal is to raise $2,000 to get her to Austin and train with an amazing trainer we have no doubt after her 4 week Board and Train she will be ready for her forever family. Please donate or share...every little bit helps. Thank you

We are looking for a FOSTER for this little girl. She is currently running the streets and visitors from out of town who saw her reached out. She is cold, hungry and sick and desperately needs help. We would love to help her but need a place for her to go, so if you are able to foster please message us, everything she needs will be provided of course, she just needs a safe and warm place.
Well it's been a week. Quasimodo had such a slim chance at life, yet we made it to an entire week🗓️. It hasn't been easy. Quasimodo struggled with constipation and swelling on one of his eyes 👁️. Luckily he's on medication 💊 and we finally got "things going" with help of the vets. We still have a long road ahead of us. The little eye that was swollen, is now opening. A puppies eyes don't open until about two weeks of age. We don't know what future complications this might bring, but we're keeping a close eye 👀 on him. Quasimodo will be needing quite a few supplies and the vet visits 🏨⚕️have been what we expected, many.

Today has been a busy day. Just before Elvis was picked up for his freedom ride, one of our directors was contacted in reference to this sweet baby that was in immediate need of assistance. This baby has a cleft lip. This is a congenital (genetic) deformity that was passed down. It makes it difficult for him to eat without inhaling food into his lungs, causing aspiration pneumonia. Neonates really shouldn't be on antibiotic, so if he were to aspirate it could be bad news. Many times, the survival rate is slim to none. Our director drove to pick him up and immediately took him to be seen. Luckily, he only has a cleft lip and not a cleft palate(the roof of his mouth). His chances are still grim, but improved slightly. Every hour, every day, and every feeding we can get through will be a miracle.
Welcome to the West Texas Tails family sweet sweet baby.
UPDATE!!!!!
Elvis is SAFE!!! As of right now we have a foster secured for him and he will be picked up. Thank you all Soo much for your help!!! We could not let this sweet baby die when there was no evidence of him having done anything wrong. We don't take aggression accusations lightly, and there was absolutely no proof Elvis ever did any wrong doing. Unfortunately people decide killing an innocent soul and saying he's aggressive is an easy out for their lack of ownership. We will still be assessing him and seeing how he's doing. He's been amazing with the staff and just wants love and cuddles.
UPDATE!!!!
The pregnant pitty mama with severe burns has been taken in by another rescue!
🚨🚨🚨URGENT!!🚨🚨🚨
We have a time sensitive EMERGENCY situation. We need a foster IMMEDIATELY. We don't know much about this girl other than obvious horrendous injuries 🏨. She is HURTING and on top of that, she's pregnant🤰. We do not know how she is with dogs, cats, or kids. We know she's nervous around men but does ok. She is at a shelter and runs the risk of being euthanized💉.
Look at those eyes. You can see the pain, the defeat, the sadness🥺😞. We can feel the pain in her sweet sweet heart💔. The issue is, we CAN NOT take her in until we have a secure foster for her🏠. Our directors are beyond full and literally can't take in another baby. This sweet angel needs a foster that will be gentle and patient with her.
Can you help us pull this girl and save her life?
We've been at a complete intake hold. Every single day, the rescue gets a minimum of 4 requests to take in dogs people are trying to "get rid" of. Every single day, people reach out to the directors individually. We die a little bit more every second, because we are just not in any position to take in any of these precious deserving souls. We are foster based, therefore we need somewhere for any of these babies to go to. Right now, fosters are impossible to find. Each baby needs vetting, and long term care. That money comes from donations. If we don't get donations, we're forking out money out of our pocket. We've done rescue for a while, and we have never seen it as bad as it is right now. We're drowning. Everyone is drowning.
With that being said, one of our fosters found these two babies abandoned in the extreme heat. They're exhausted. They're so sun burnt. They're young. They're thirsty and starving. We don't know how long they have been out there or how they ended up there. Their paw pads are burnt off. Their eyes are red. You can see the burns through their fur. They've been scanned, and no microchip was detected.
They got to sleep in a cool house on a soft bed. They have HORRIBLE diarrhea. These babies are hurting, and we hurt seeing them. They will be going to the vet to see what's going on. They will need a foster, as our current foster can't hold them for long. We don't have a name just yet, but we'll get there.
Welcome to the family babies. You're safe now.
If you would like to donate to their care, you can click any of these platforms.
(One of our directors has raised some money already to help with the current supplies they got. If you have donated to her, know your donations are still valid for this sweet pair)

From the owner: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances I am having to rehome my dog. He is 8 years old. Will be 9 in December. He is fully vetted. He is not doing well with living in an apartment. He is protective of me & the kids so whenever we walk him if he sees people he will bark aggressively. He has a lot of quirks. If someone comes out of no where it scares him. However if he seems then from a distance he is fine. He is extremely dog aggressive. So absolutely no other dogs. Cats he is fine with once he gets use to them. He is fine with my 6&4 year old. However I think he will do best in a family with no kids or order kids. He is needing an big yard to burn off his energy or a young family that is wanting to go on hikes & adventures."

Meet Tank and Ellie. Tank and Ellie are currently at TLC Animal Hospital. Both sweethearts are available for adoption!!
Tank was found on the Eastside by one of the veterinary technicians. She searched tirelessly for his owners to no avail (seems like the most common outcome recently). Tank is a sweet young boy. He is fully vetted and gets along with other dogs.
Ellie was abandoned at the clinic. This gorgeous girl has some quirks and needs a home where she is the center of attention. Ellie does not do well with other dogs, or young children. Ellie got both knees repaired so she's ready to run marathons.
If you're interested in any of the beautiful babies, please reach out to TLC Animal Hospital.
