This wonderful cartoon by Chris Hallbeck succinctly shows how gender stereotyping of children's toys is limiting to both girls and boys -- just like fostering spatial and analytic skills in girls is important so is teaching boys how to be nurturing.
If you're looking for empowering toys that reflect the diverse range of children's interests, A Mighty Girl's 2015 Holiday Gift Guide features hundreds of high-quality toys for babies, kids, and teens. To make it simple to find the perfect gift for the kids in your life, it's sortable by six age groups and ten different themes, including science toys, arts & crafts, building toys, games, dolls & action figures, and women's history.
And, while our holiday guide was created with Mighty Girls in mind, we believe both girls and boys will love the featured toys, just as we believe that all children benefit from the girl-empowering books and resources found throughout A Mighty Girl.
To browse A Mighty Girl's 2015 Holiday Gift Guide, visit http://www.amightygirl.com/holiday-guide
And, if you'd like to find a special doll for a child in your life, visit our "Dolls & Action Figures" section at http://amgrl.co/1Ol78Bo

BREAKING: Today, Michael Dunn, who killed 17 year-old Jordan Davis for playing his music too loud was convicted of three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting a firearm. While we're relieved that justice was served for some counts, it was not served for killing Jordan. My great-aunt was a welder like this woman. She loved the work and the pay which was MUCH higher than other women's work. When male workers kept stealing her lunch, she added laxatives to the next day's lunch. Problem solved.
The only way for a woman, as for a man, to find herself, to know herself as a person, is by creative work of her own. There is no other way.
