We are very proud to announce that our own Veronica Roshin Schroder received the degree of Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling from New York Theological Seminary in a graduation ceremony held in New York on May 18, 2024! Roshin serves as one of the Zen priests of our sangha. Her academic training specialized in Buddhist Chaplaincy and she hopes to serve as a Hospice or Hospital chaplain one day!
Congratulations Roshin!
A message from our teacher in Las Cruces! Have a blessed Memorial Day everyone!🙏
Memorial Day is tomorrow. It is a day to remember and honor those who have fallen in service to us in the United States. Personally, I don’t believe it should be honored with department store sales, picnics or gatherings with no remembrances offered, or anything else that has no bearing on its purpose. But, I am just one person. And the whole country seems ablaze with sales events, ads for bar-b-cue deals and the like. So it is. As for me, I am grateful for my fellow veterans who gave their lives so that I may live. Grateful for the medic who scrambled to me under machine gun fire to assist me as I lay wounded. I am grateful for pretty much everything I have because if it weren’t for veterans who died throughout our history I wouldn’t be here to enjoy my Memorial Day in relative peace.
Be well🙏🙏🙏
Happy Mother's Day from our Sangha!

"When you produce a thought that is full of understanding, forgiveness, and compassion, that thought will immediately have a healing effect on both your physical and mental health and on those around you.
If you think a thought that is full of judgment and anger, that thought will immediately poison your body and mind and the people around you."
