Las Crucen Col. James Brady assumes command of Fort Bliss garrison in El Paso Col. James Brady, a native of Las Cruces, is now Fort Bliss garrison commander.

The Alliance for Regional Military Support hosted a trip to Austin to tour the Army Applications Lab, Software Factory, as well as meet with senior leaders from Army Futures Command. We had economic development representatives from the County and City of of El Paso, Horizon City Economic Development and the Borderplex Alliance join us to determine how the region can benefit from the capabilities Army Futures Command brings. We also visited with leadership of the National Security Innovation Council (NSIC).

Registration for the Bataan Memorial Death March opened today! This year, due to COVID-19, the March is virtual with the dates being 9-18 April (the dates of the actual Death March in 1942).

On Thursday ARMS presented the United States Army Futures Command Year in review. We had attendees from Washington DC to Austin Texas, including Congressional offices, state and local governments, Universities as well as large and small businesses. Our presenters were Lieutenant General Scott McKean (Deputy Commanding General, AFC) and COL Toby Magsig (Commander, Joint Modernization Command). Attendees received a brief on what AFC and JMC have done over the past year and what is upcoming for 2021. Including "Project Convergence 21." Over 70 attendees were able to ask questions and give comments. It was a great success and we give our thanks to LTG McKean and COL Magsig for spending the time enlightening our region.
