The Golden Triangle is a powerful tool to help leaders understand their soldiers and teammates. Anonymous surveys of 1st Armored Division Soldiers over the last several months clearly indicate that soldiers have greater TRUST in their leaders when those leaders use the Golden Triangle model as a way to build strong relationships with each soldier’s friends and family.

Across Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division, we have seen dozens of cases where the Golden Triangle has helped us care for our Soldiers in times of stress, conflict, and personal challenge. The video below illustrates the power of the Golden Triangle. Please use it to better care for our people and the strengthen the cohesion of our team-of-teams. IRON SOLDIERS!

Hey Team, there has been an update to this event due to the expected high temperatures on Sunday, the 24.6 hour run has been cancelled.

Stop by the Division Headquarters Monday to celebrate the 246th Army Birthday with static displays, food vendors, and a cake cutting.

In addition to those displays, the museum will have historical displays, AAFES will host Food Trucks and a mobile barber shop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., join The Real Iron 7 Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Williams as we commemorate the occasion with a ceremonial cake cutting!

All DoD cardholders are welcome to attend and Soldiers are encouraged to spend their day celebrating the nation's oldest and greatest fighting force. We cannot celebrate without you!

Please help us bring our COVID infection rates down. Get your COVID vaccination today! We have plenty of vaccine on hand, and plenty of available appointments.

The way through the oscillating COVID-19 cycle is by getting vaccinated. We have plenty of capacity for Soldiers, Families, Civilians to receive the vaccine.
To this end, we can move forward with….
-Observing a decrease in positive cases will allow for the conditions to change.
-Our community numbers are at a plateau, in order to affect the plateau and ultimately lower infections vaccination is the way.
-We have ample supply of the vaccine and have expanded opportunities, and will continue to do so, to receive vaccinations.
-Expanding opportunities for vaccination through mobile vaccination teams in an effort to make it easier for those who want to be vaccinated can do so as quickly as possible.
-As we see an increase in the vaccinated population, and assuming this will decrease transmission of the virus, we can expect a relaxation of the restrictions for installation personnel.
-Stout Gym vaccination site call 915-742-2273 or make an appointment on www.tricareonline.com
- Mobile COVID Vaccination (COVAX) Team available will be Tuesday through Friday 0930 to 1400 stopping by unit areas. Check back for more information on where the COVAX will be located.

This morning, Iron-7 and I had the privilege of welcoming 191 Iron Soldiers from 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) as they redeployed from the Middle East. We are proud of all they accomplished, and we are glad they’re home! Well done! Strike Hard!! Iron soldiers!!!

Today, IRON-7 and I had the opportunity to welcome the first redeployment flight from 2nd Brigade. The Soldiers of the Iron Brigade spent the last 7 months in Kuwait and around the CENTCOM area providing security in the region and working side by side with our allies.

The rest of the Brigade will redeploy home over the next few weeks.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. And thanks to your amazing Families who kept the “home fires burning” while you were gone. America’s Tank Division is happy to have you all home. IRON SOLDIERS!!!

The Ironclad Summit is tomorrow. It is my hope this Summit inspires leadership at every level and to put action against behaviors that degrade our teams. We must be Ironclad, together. You all inspire me daily, and I look forward to the Ironclad Summit and hearing your feedback.

I am proud to serve with each of you, IRON SOLDIERS!

Latest update to our Come to Work Safe, Live Safe Order—

03/04/2021

I continue to be inspired every day by the work and dedication of our Soldiers.

While checking on one of our COVID Vaccination sites at Stayton Theater on Fort Bliss, a medic named PV2 Bradford from 6-1 CAV greeted me with motivation and direction. This Soldier was passionate about helping others, and by the way he carried himself, he was clearly a natural leader.

PVT Bradford works five days a week at this site (to include over the weekend) to ensure vaccinations are administered to our Soldiers, our Veterans, and their Families.

Thank you, PV2 Bradford, for what you do for TEAM IRON and for TEAM BLISS!

Hey Team, this video is an introduction of our focus, across the installation, to attack sexual harassment and sexual assault and the two other corrosives. Sexual assault and sexual harassment must stop. I have directed action to focus on this corrosive and to ensure our victims are cared for. Ultimately, we can expect a safer and more secure environment that is non-permissive of this corrosive.

There's more to follow, but right now - you need to know there's much more in store.

I ask all of you, how can you be IRONCLAD?

Stay tuned. We'll keep you informed here.

Today, I had the distinct privilege of meeting SGT Thompson from 1-77AR. As Iron Soldiers discussed with me their hesitation in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, SGT Thompson stood in front of his Team and volunteered to get his first dose of the vaccine. His leadership and willingness to step forward inspired eight others to follow suit and get vaccinated. (We only caught five of them in this picture; the others were already inside the vaccination facility)

I challenge all leaders across Team Bliss to model SGT Thompson’s actions today in leading by example. Getting vaccinated is a simple step in fighting this COVID-19 threat. SGT Thompson did it for his Family. SGT Thompson did it for his Team in 1-77 Armor.

SGT Thompson—thank you for your leadership! IRON SOLDIERS!!

Yesterday, I had my first dose of the COVID vaccine. It was just like any other shot—not painful and no big deal. Twenty-four hours later, the only symptom I have experienced is a little bit of soreness in my arm at the site of the injection. Otherwise, I feel great.

By the way—that’s IRON-7 (CSM Williams) behind me getting his shot, too.

Special thanks to our medical professionals in 1st Armored Division and throughout TEAM BLISS who worked so hard and so quickly to vaccinate our folks!

Today, I had the chance to recognize a young soldier for his engaged leadership.

Meet Corporal Sanders from 2-13 CAV. This morning, while running intervals in the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team area, I saw three soldiers from 2-13 CAV serving as road guards. They were manning the barriers we use to block traffic, enabling our Soldiers to run safely on the roadways during Physical Readiness Training hours. In front of these road guards in the middle of the street was a loan individual leading these road guards through a rigorous PRT session including squats, lunges, laterals, etc. When I asked the Soldier to explain what he was doing, he said, “Sir, my soldiers had road guard duty this morning, so I figured I would come out here with them and lead them through PRT while they’re on duty . . . why stand out here doing nothing when you can do PRT?” . . . EXACTLY!

Corporal Sanders was not only ensuring his soldiers were getting great PRT, he was setting a great example of leadership for them—an example they will emulate when they are corporals some day.

I had the honor of presenting Corporal Sanders a Commanding General Coin for Excellence. These pictures show Corporal Sanders, his Platoon Sergeant, his team, and me in the Constitution Room right before I presented him the coin.

We’ll done, Corporal Sanders! You made my day! IRON SOLDIERS!!!

Team Bliss, We've all been putting forth a great effort to reduce COVID19 on our formations and in facilities. We have extended the Public Health Emergency an additional 30 days and current restrictions remain in place; we must remain vigilant and be good neighbors to combat the virus both here and within our city.

The Public Health Emergency for Fort Bliss, Texas has been extended an additional 30 days in order to ensure that William Beaumont Army Medical Center remains postured to provide medical care to our Department of Defense and Veteran's Administration beneficiaries. Even as we see gradual improvement in the El Paso COVID situation, this remains a prudent measure.

The November 12th, Third Amendment of the Come to Work Safe, Live Safe order remains in place. This graphic provides an overview, and is not all inclusive, please refer back to our Nov. 12 order for specific guidance.

Remain safe and thank you for all you do to , Iron Soldiers!

Hey Team—I am proud of Our Division and Our Installation. 99% of us work hard to care for our Soldiers, our Army Civilians, and their Families. However, if something is not quite right and if you are not comfortable telling your immediate chain of command about it, please contact me. Use the 1AD CG Hotline. Your phone message or web-based message will come to me and my personal staff. I want to know how I can help.

Part of caring for our Soldiers and Families is creating places that treat them with dignity and respect and are worthy of their commitment to our community. Understanding the challenges they face is key to stopping violence.
