Foster and back-up foster still needed for the Venezuelan pugs who will be arriving to El Paso this evening! 🙏🏽🐾❤️

09/13/2024

This photo is from back in May when super pawsome transporter and her equally pawsome husband took Tomy and Gala to reunite with their owners in Houston.
We haven’t gotten an offer for help from anyone in San Antonio so it’s looking like these two amazing rescuers will be heading to San Antonio tonight to pick up Tomy and Gala at City of San Antonio Animal Care Services tomorrow morning and then will be bringing them back to El Paso while they wait for their owners’ release from Immigration custody.
Donations to help fund the trip including gas, food, and a night’s stay would be so very appreciated! You can donate directly to Bernie’s CashApp $Bernie2therescue
Or to us if you’d like to make your donation tax deductible.
Three cheers for Bernie’s never-ending willingness to help puppers of all nationalities! Pug pupdates coming again very soon! 🐾❤️

PUGTASTIC pupdate on Venezuelan Tomy and Gala! This past week was filled with many challenges and obstacles in ensuring that Tomy and Gala would not be adopted out from City of San Antonio Animal Care Services, and would be released to us so we can reunite them with their owners once they are out of immigration detention. We got confirmation today from the wonderful Operations Officer at that the pugs will be released to Bridge Pups Rescue!!!
This mission would not have been possible without the unwavering help of some PAWsome humans! Thank you Adriana from our own El Paso Animal Services! So thankful for you!!! 🙏🏽❤️
And a huuuuuuuuge thank you to State Rep. Mary González and her amazing Staffer Desirae who went above and beyond to help! Your time and efforts and kindness are so very appreciated!
🥹🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And here’s where we need YOUR help: is anyone in San Antonio willing to pick these pug babies up and foster until their owners are released? We don’t have a definitive release date for them so we can’t tell you how long the fostering would be for.
If we can’t get a San Antonio volunteer asap, our transporter angel extraordinaire will drive there to pick them up and bring them to El Paso on Saturday. We have a foster option, but can certainly use a back-up or two. If we go that route, we’ll need some donations for the trip and costs, please!
I’ll pupdate again very soon! Thank you all!!!!!!! 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

We are not backing down! The search for Alice continues as does the quest for holding Specialist A.O. of the Texas Military Department Texas National Guard accountable!!!

09/11/2024

Alice is still missing and we know someone out there in knows where he is (besides the Texas Military Department Texas National Guard Specialist named Amy who cruelly refused to return him to his loving family). Tell your friends and neighbors, show his photo to your groomers and vet techs, and be on lookout in El Paso especially near Wharf Cove Dr and the Sand Pebble Apts area in 79936! Share and demand that the Texas National Guard hold Spc. A.O. ACCOUNTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

¿Dónde está Alice? familia migrante denuncia supuesto secuestro de su perrita al cruzar la frontera 09/10/2024

Thankful to Telemundo 48 El Paso for spreading the word on Spc. Amy’s deceit and theft of Alice.
On a very personal note, please pardon the puffiness of my eyes from crying and my not being 💯 as seen in the interview. Yesterday marked a very heavy anniversary, but I did my best.
Grateful for all the new eyes on this awful story and we hope the Texas Military Department will find Alice and hold Spc. A.O. accountable!!! Keep looking out for Alice in El Paso especially near Wharf Cove Dr or the Pebble Hills and Sand Pebble Apts. area!

Migrant family seek help locating ‘stolen’ pup 09/10/2024

Thank you KTSM 9 News for making more people aware of the theft of Alice. Please, Texas Military Department hold Spc. A.O. accountable! El Paso, let’s find Alice!!!!

Help needed in San Antonio! Remember our Venezuelan Tomy and Gala? They were successfully reunited with their owner in Houston thanks to our pawsome transporter but unfortunately, their owner left Houston to San Antonio and did not understand she had to tell immigration authorities. She is currently detained in an immigration facility. Tomy and Gala are at the City of San Antonio - Municipal Government Shelter. Can anyone in San Antonio pull the pugs from the shelter and foster them until their owner is released?? Please Share! Thank you!!!!!!

This pup has Austin, Texas tags but was found loose in Juárez. CBP agent says the vet on the pup’s tag had no owner information. Do you know this pup? Would anyone be able to foster so we can get him vet care? Please Share!

The search continues for little Alice who was taken by a Texas Military Department Texas National Guard Specialist from a Turkish family seeking asylum at our border. Alice may be near the Pebble Hills area in El Paso near the Sand Pebble apts. or near Wharf Cove Dr. in the 79936 zip code. Please be on the lookout! Share with your vet and groomer contacts!

Here is the text exchange between Spc. Amy O. and one of the members of the Turkish family. Keep in mind they are using a translation app so the English is not perfect. Please also note that this was only 13 days after Amy had taken possession of the dog. I’ve never heard of a dog “dying of depression” within 13 days of being apart from their families— and I see separations on a highly regular basis. Heck, I was just in Spain for two weeks and none of my 5 fur babies suddenly died because they missed me (and believe me, they looove me!).
Amy failed to show proof of vet documents to the family. The family called Eastwood Animal Clinic and the clinic told them they had no record of Amy taking Alice in. A little birdie (not from the clinic but a former student who happened to be at the clinic yesterday with her own fur babies) told me that two military officials also went to the clinic to confirm Amy’s story and that the clinic told them the same. If Alice did indeed die in a veterinary clinic there would be some form of documentation. That is just basic common sense! And has anyone ever heard of a dog being treated “under someone else’s insurance”?? Because I’ve never heard of such a thing and I’ve had dogs for the entirety of my adult life.
Further, asking for a photo postmortem is not “morbid”. People choose to have open casket funerals as a means of saying goodbye. When my beloved Lupe died as a result of the brutal dog attack, her immigrant family in NY also asked for a photo or a video call. And I obliged because I knew they deserved to say goodbye to their baby they sacrificed so much for. Amy stating she “didn’t want a photo of a dead dog” in her phone demonstrates her level of childishness and immaturity. Also, what is someone so easily offended by death doing serving in the Texas Military Department?!
Amy blocked the family after this text exchange which is why the search for Alice continues. Where is Alice, Amy?? Just tell us and/or GIVE HIM BACK!
please note that your Specialist was in uniform at the border when she took Amy from the family. She was not acting as a civilian.

Photos from Bridge Pups Rescue's post 09/07/2024

I’m sharing these texts to demonstrate the absolute ridiculousness and dishonesty surrounding Spc. Amy’s decision to not give the Turkish family their beloved dog Alice back. For context, I shared Amy’s neighborhood in a post and Story, not her exact address. Sharing her exact address would be doxxing. But because she is refusing to give Alice back, I will continue to ask the public for help finding Alice.
Based on the terrible grammar, the fact that this person stated he is a “Specialist” which holds no authority, the fact that he’s trying to intimidate me— a civilian, and the fact that he clearly had no basic understanding of what doxxing is I have no doubt this person is a silly and sad fraud. A simple Google search showed me the number belongs to a 58 year old man named Tyrone in Houston. Although I can’t be certain, my guess is Amy asked a friend to text me and “scare” me. After he read my response, I’m guessing he had an “oh crap” moment when he realized I am not the one to be messed with, and that I would absolutely share his text with authorities. I shared this pathetic intimidation tactic with my contacts at the Texas Military Department as well as Congresswoman Escobar who is being of great help just as she was with the case of Jey.
To think, none of this deceitful and immoral buffoonery would be necessary if Amy would just do the right thing and GIVE BACK ALICE!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to Share and tag the Texas Military Department so they can see that this is not acceptable by any means.

Photos from Bridge Pups Rescue's post 09/05/2024

The woman who took Alice the pup from her Turkish immigrant family at the Bridge is in the Texas National Guard, just as with the dognapping case of Venezuelan Jey. I’ve already spoken to her superiors today and I am hopeful that they will get Spc. A.O. to do the right thing and give Alice back. Otherwise, I will have to ask for help from , local media, EPPD, etc.

To Amy and all other : Immigrants’ dogs are not yours to take!!!!!! Treat others as YOU would want to be treated!!!!!!!!

09/05/2024

The search for the woman named Amelia who goes by “Amy” who stole this immigrant pup named Alice is still on. I sent her a text yesterday and she never responded which pretty much confirms my suspicions that she is well aware she’s in possession of stolen property she refuses to give back. Please keep an eye out for little Alice who is very much missed by her family especially if you are in the Pebble Hills area of El Paso or in the general 79936 zip code. Let’s get Alice back to her family!!!

09/03/2024

Pupdate: The woman who has the dog, is possibly NOT Border Patrol, but we’re getting closer to narrowing it down! Updates coming soon…

This post was made by an immigrant woman who has reached out to us for help. We have the name and contact number of the Border Patrol agent which we won’t share in full right now, but we have already reached out to her as well as US Border Patrol El Paso Sector and are awaiting their response. We’d much rather not have this turn into a big situation as when Venezuelan Jey was stolen by a Texas National Guardsman, and we’d rather not have to get local law enforcement involved over this family’s legal property that is their beloved dog. We’d also rather not have to ask for help, so for now, we’re asking you all to SHARE, and tag Border Patrol. Hopefully Border Patrol Agent Orozco will see this desperate plea from the family and after months of blocking them, will finally return their dog to them. Please DM if you have seen this pup or have any information on this situation. Thank you!

Venezuelan Mini Deisy traveled on foot from Venezuela with her family for four difficult months. Here are some snippets of her journey to our border and to being reunited with her family in Clearwater, Florida after being separated from them at our border in El Paso, TX. (Reunion video is in our previous post!)

07/28/2024

Reunion!!! Venezuelan Mini Deisy was reunited with her family in Clearwater, Florida yesterday after being separated from them at our border back in early June. They traveled for 4 arduous months on foot to reach our border at a chance at a safer, better life and not once did they consider leaving little Mini behind. Thank you to ALL who help make our mission at Bridge Pups Rescue successful yet again: I appreciate our friends at El Paso Animal Services who help Bridge Pups like Mini with vaccines and so much more! Chris Dominguez, Mini’s foster who truly went above and beyond in making the travel arrangements in Florida, I’m forever thankful we’ve met. Thank you so much for offering to bring Mini to Orlando with you. Susan, Chris and partner from the Pug Rescue of Florida and Georgia for picking Mini up from Orlando and driving her to Clearwater— you all are angels! And even though the first scheduled trip was a bust, a huge thank you goes to Jane, Susie, Colleen and Kelli for being ready and willing to have helped get Mini from Miami.
Here’s to another happy ending (and beginning!) and here’s to Mini Deisy’s new life in the U.S. with her family!!! 🇺🇸❤️🐾

Courtesy post: “I am reaching out to request urgent assistance for two stray and neglected dogs who have become close companions. These two dogs, a friendly female Husky and a shy but sweet male Schnauzer mix, have been roaming around San Elizario since December. Despite multiple calls to animal services, they have not been able to capture them, and their facilities are unfortunately full.
After not seeing them for a couple of months and hoping they had been picked up by Animal Services, they resurfaced about four days ago in a distressing state—full of ticks, wounds and extremely skinny. I was able to immediately administer Bravecto tick/heart worm medication to both of them, which thank goodness has helped them significantly with the tick infestations that they both had. I have also been feeding them every day, and now they stay near our apartment most of the time, even sleeping together outside of our door every night or under cars parked at my apartment complex. I don’t have a backyard and I’m unable to keep them inside of my apartment given the landlord’s pet policy. I’ve also tried to reaching out to family and friends for assistance, but they are also unable to take them in at the moment. I was also able to get them in my car earlier today and take them to a fire station to scan for microchips and they do not microchips. I also found out through a neighbor that reached out through my Facebook post that they were abandoned by their owners at a house about 9 months ago around 400 Ramilley Ave. It’s really heartbreaking to know they’ve been waiting for their owners to return for almost a year now and have been roaming around in the heat and cold to fend for themselves since then. The female Husky is incredibly friendly with all dogs and children, and the male Schnauzer mix is a bit more reserved but also very affectionate once he can trust a little bit. These two dogs have been through so much and deserve a chance at a better life. I am seeking your help to ensure they receive the care and protection they need. Please let me know if you have space to take them in or if you know of other potential rescues would be able to take them in.“

It’s been a while since we made a pupdate on Ecuadorian Tobby and Luna, but they’ve been doing GREAT with their wonderful foster Julie. Now that Tobby is getting fixed thanks to our friends at , they will be ready to be received by their mom in Wausau, WI who has been waiting patiently for her beloved babies. I know Wausau isn’t exactly a common destination, but if we could get them even to Chicago, Milwaukee or Madison, transport can be arranged! Please let us know if you’re traveling there and would be willing to take these precious sibling puppers! 🐾🐾❤️❤️

Sadly, Venezuelan Mini Deisy did not get to reunite with her family today after all. Although her family was understandably devastated, we promised them we would get their beloved Mini Deisy to them soon. Is anyone traveling to Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, or Miami in the near future? Please let us know! If we can’t find someone who already has travel plans there, we’ll be doing a fundraiser for the costs of flying her there with a volunteer. We’ll keep you posted!
For now, Mini is safe and sound with her amazing foster Chris (in the second pic) while she waits to finally be reunited with her family again. Speaking of, we’d like to give a pugtastic shout out to Chris who worked meticulously on the travel plans to get Mini to her family. Although the plan fell through for reasons we could not control, Chris’ time, energy, and efforts show that she’s willing to go above and beyond to help others in need! And that’s just the kind of person who makes our mission at Bridge Pups Rescue possible! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
