I had a wonderful time celebrating the 75th anniversary of Jefferson High School. It was very special to see generations of Silver Foxes coming together to honor the campus and its enduring legacy.

I’m thrilled to begin my 2024-25 faculty visits at Bobby Joe Hill PK-8 School! The inspiring staff members, the newly renovated campus, and an engaged community provide an environment where learners can grow, be inspired, collaborate, and thrive!

Thank you to the 2024-25 Superintendent Teacher Advisory Council for attending our inaugural meeting. I look forward to collaborating and co-designing ideas, strategies, and policies with our educators!

The El Paso ISD Superintendent Student Advisory Council has kicked off its first meeting, and I’m thrilled to be working with our exceptional high school representatives! These dedicated students are ready to offer valuable feedback that will help shape the future of our district.

The first week of school has set a promising tone for the year ahead. As we collectively strive for excellence, I am confident that with our shared commitment, we will achieve remarkable successes and make this year exceptional!

The Back to School Fiesta was filled with energy and spirit! It was inspiring to see our community rallying together to begin the new school year.

I look forward to welcoming our students on Monday, August 5.

We kicked off the new school year with our annual week-long El Paso ISD Leadershift conference! It was an enriching experience as I joined forces with our esteemed principals and leadership team to prepare for the year ahead.

We heard from keynote speaker Michelle Kinder, who reminded us of the importance of wellness, and we leveraged data to plan strategically, all aligned with our strategic blueprint. These sessions not only reinforced our collective commitment to excellence and innovation but also empowered our dedicated staff.

Last week, 10 El Paso ISD students who recently completed the Project Search program were honored during a ceremony at Providence Memorial campus.

This program empowers students with disabilities to secure jobs through internships, providing them with the opportunity to learn from experienced workers.

Thank you, Empowering Hands, Emergence Health Network and Hospitals of Providence, for being great partners in education.

Tippin Elementary School celebrated 20 years of providing outstanding educational services to the children of West El Paso with a joyous, day-long celebration last Friday.

I was honored to participate in the Timberwolves' exhilarating parade, which showcased alumni, students and faculty.

Congratulations on reaching this historic milestone!

Since January, I have visited more than 60% of the district's campuses to learn about the great things happening in our schools. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at each campus and received valuable feedback on how we can enhance the educational experience across the district.

My final visit this school year was to Douglass Elementary School, a passionate campus that fosters a community of eager and lifelong learners. The Dragons take great pride in offering a diverse range of programs and extracurricular activities, including opportunities to explore orchestra, robotics and UIL chess.

I want to express my gratitude to all the campuses I visited this school year. I look forward to continuing these visits and complete the rest of the schools in the 2024-2025 academic year!

On Tuesday, the Teacher Advisory Council held its final meeting of the 2023-24 academic school year.

It has been a privilege to collaborate with the council members on a monthly basis to develop strategies aimed at improving the educational experience across the district.

Since 2009, Powell Elementary School has ignited a passion for personal excellence in its students. The dedicated faculty at Powell is committed to implementing top-tier educational practices that equip learners with the tools to realize their highest potential.

This distinguished campus proudly utilizes its partnership with Fort Bliss and supports military children, offering an inclusive environment for all.

Since 2004, Tippin Elementary School has incorporated enriching classroom instruction, growth opportunities and vigorous progress monitoring to ensure the best for its students.

The school will host a 20th-anniversary celebration this Friday to commemorate this milestone. Congratulations, Timberwolves!

This morning, I was welcomed into the Rocket’s beautiful campus by the Irvin High School cheerleaders, dance team and faculty. This newly renovated school is part of El Paso ISD's commitment to transforming schools through the $668 million bond program, which was passed by voters in 2016.

The faculty at Irvin is committed to ensuring that learning has no boundaries and that students are inspired to excel!

Hillside Elementary School has a long-standing commitment to providing an enriching educational experience for every student within its campus. With a proud 73-year history of excellence, the Warriors have played an integral role in positioning El Paso ISD as the Destination District.

Last week, I had the pleasure of being welcomed into the home of the Mavericks by an outstanding group of Transmountain Early College High School (TMECHS) students. This prestigious campus enables students to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree simultaneously.

The faculty at TMECHS is committed to maintaining the school's 100% graduation rate and the highest El Paso Community College graduation rate among 17 early college high schools in the county.

Yesterday, we celebrated the new El Paso ISD Council of PTAs during an Installation & Awards Luncheon at the Professional Development Center. I was honored to receive the Superintendent's Award during the event.

For 61 years, Western Hills Elementary School has been committed to ensuring academic excellence. This afternoon, the Roadrunners faculty shared their remarkable achievements with me while engaging in constructive discussions aimed at advancing school improvements.

The esteemed campus offers a variety of programs, enabling students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade to thrive.

I had the honor of being welcomed into the home of the Tornados by the exceptional Hornedo Vortex dance team! Thank you, dancers, for showcasing your talents during the Hornedo Middle School faculty meeting. It was a privilege to collaborate with Hornedo's faculty and learn how the Tornados are ensuring that schools and programs are inclusive and equitable.

It was such a great evening at El Paso ISD Night at the Chihuahuas last Friday! It was wonderful to see students, teachers and staff all come together to support the district and enjoy a fun-filled night of baseball.

The event truly showcased the strong community spirit that defines El Paso's District.

The faculty meeting at Tinajero PK-8 School began with an uplifting activity that united the staff in celebrating each other's excellent work. The staff's kindness towards each other and their students is a testament to their commitment to creating an environment where learners are inspired and empowered to thrive!

I had a very inspiring morning with the faculty of Franklin High School. Being one of the most populous schools in El Paso ISD, the Cougars always make sure that each student has access to quality education, resources and opportunities for growth.

I’d also like to acknowledge the great group of Franklin students who helped with hospitality during the meeting.

Joined the incredible Moye Elementary School faculty meeting on Wednesday afternoon. I was impressed by the Mountain Lions’ commitment to implementing the district’s strategic blueprint. It is evident that the staff at Moye works tirelessly to provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment that supports the whole child.

I had the honor of joining the community in attending the Coach Wally Hartley PK-8 School ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. The gleaming facility is an example of El Paso ISD's commitment to building a better future for our students, schools and community.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this achievement possible.

I had the honor of congratulating the esteemed 2024 robotics district champions from Zach White Elementary School. This exemplary campus is renowned for its exceptional standards and innovative programs, of which the robotics program is a shining example.

The Cowboys faculty are a great example of how El Paso ISD empowers and inspires learners to thrive!

For the last 27 years, Kohlberg Elementary has played a significant role in shaping the future of West El Paso students.

As part of the Franklin High School feeder pattern, it provides its students with exciting programs such as Dual Language, Fine Arts and Extracurricular Activities. It was nice to see you, Coyotes!
