I had a wonderful time celebrating the 75th anniversary of Jefferson High School. It was very special to see generations of Silver Foxes coming together to honor the campus and its enduring legacy.
I’m thrilled to begin my 2024-25 faculty visits at Bobby Joe Hill PK-8 School! The inspiring staff members, the newly renovated campus, and an engaged community provide an environment where learners can grow, be inspired, collaborate, and thrive!

We kicked off the new school year with our annual week-long El Paso ISD Leadershift conference! It was an enriching experience as I joined forces with our esteemed principals and leadership team to prepare for the year ahead.
We heard from keynote speaker Michelle Kinder, who reminded us of the importance of wellness, and we leveraged data to plan strategically, all aligned with our strategic blueprint. These sessions not only reinforced our collective commitment to excellence and innovation but also empowered our dedicated staff.
Last week, 10 El Paso ISD students who recently completed the Project Search program were honored during a ceremony at Providence Memorial campus.
This program empowers students with disabilities to secure jobs through internships, providing them with the opportunity to learn from experienced workers.
Thank you, Empowering Hands, Emergence Health Network and Hospitals of Providence, for being great partners in education.

Tippin Elementary School celebrated 20 years of providing outstanding educational services to the children of West El Paso with a joyous, day-long celebration last Friday.
I was honored to participate in the Timberwolves' exhilarating parade, which showcased alumni, students and faculty.

Since January, I have visited more than 60% of the district's campuses to learn about the great things happening in our schools. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at each campus and received valuable feedback on how we can enhance the educational experience across the district.
My final visit this school year was to Douglass Elementary School, a passionate campus that fosters a community of eager and lifelong learners. The Dragons take great pride in offering a diverse range of programs and extracurricular activities, including opportunities to explore orchestra, robotics and UIL chess.
I want to express my gratitude to all the campuses I visited this school year. I look forward to continuing these visits and complete the rest of the schools in the 2024-2025 academic year!

Last week, I had the pleasure of being welcomed into the home of the Mavericks by an outstanding group of Transmountain Early College High School (TMECHS) students. This prestigious campus enables students to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree simultaneously.
The faculty at TMECHS is committed to maintaining the school's 100% graduation rate and the highest El Paso Community College graduation rate among 17 early college high schools in the county.
Yesterday, we celebrated the new El Paso ISD Council of PTAs during an Installation & Awards Luncheon at the Professional Development Center. I was honored to receive the Superintendent's Award during the event.
