Nursing Faculty Highlights!
Maria Tobar graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2006 with a BSN and an MSN in 2019. She cared for patients in the Mother-Baby Unit, NICU, Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Behavioral Units. She started her nurse educator career in 2019 at EPCC and became a Certified Nurse Educator in 2020. She loves EPCC and finds gratitude in being part of the process of educating nursing students.

Bianca Hernandez believes in sharing kindness and learning something new every day, and found Nursing was perfect for what she wanted to do in life. Bianca graduated from the Silva Health Magnet program in 2022 at 17 years old with her Licenced Vocational Nursing (LVN) degree, and knew El Paso Community College (EPCC) was where she wanted to continue, and finish this spring, earning her Associate's Degree in Nursing. Bianca is also working as a LVN at University Medical Center (UMC) in the medical oncology unit.

Nursing Faculty Highlights!
Ms. Andria Arreola is one of our Vocational Nursing instructors at the MDP campus. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2001. Her clinical experience includes medical-surgical, orthopedic, rehabilitation, and critical care units in the acute care setting and healthcare call center, health risk assessment, and telephonic triage in the community setting.
She joined EPCC in 2010 and found her love for nursing education as an open lab instructor and now holds the rank of Nursing Professor. She is near completion of her master’s degree in nursing education and will continue to pursue excellence in nursing education for years to come. She encourages all students to drop in and say, “Hello”!

Nursing Faculty Highlights!
Ms. Virginia Madrid received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2004 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2011 from Grand Canyon University. Her clinical experience includes school nursing, community outreach, TB surveillance, antepartum, postpartum, and gynecology. She has been with EPCC for over 12 years and has taught courses for our LVN, LVN-to-RN, and ADN Programs. She received the prestigious Faculty Achievement Award in 2016. She loves teaching future nurses about Maternal Child and Women’s Health. Ms. Madrid, we appreciate you!
