ππ¨ Brake Safety Week is Coming! (August 25-31) π¨π
Brake Safety Week is an initiative on commercial motor vehicle inspections and driver compliance. It's an opportunity to raise awareness about brake safety and collect important data on brake-related violations.
Throughout the week, CVSA-certified inspectors will conduct routine inspections, with a special focus on brake systems and components. Vehicles with brake-related out-of-service violations will be removed from the road until repairs are made.
This year, inspectors are zeroing in on the condition of brake linings and pads, which could lead to violations and impact a motor carrier's safety rating. In some areas, performance-based brake testers (PBBT) will also be used to assess braking performance.
