HAPPY VETERANS DAY! 🇺🇸
October was Pastor Appreciation Month and we want to say, "Thank you!" to all of the pastors who are selflessly and faithfully serving the Lord. We're so grateful for you! Let's remember to show our pastors that we appreciate them year-round.
"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church:the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ." -Ephesians 4:11-12
Last week, another club had its kick off! The team at Eastwood Middle is always so welcoming and does a great job of making club fun!
Our schools have fall intercession over the next two weeks! Would you pray for the safe return of all students and faculty, as well as refreshment?
Yesterday, we had two clubs kick off for the year! We’re so grateful for what the Lord will do at Silva Health Magnet High School and Canutillo High School!🎉
We are so excited!!!! Some of our schools are starting their clubs this week! Canutillo HS and Eastwood MS are starting this week, as well as our addition Silva Health Magnet HS! Would you pray for them as they prepare to share the love of Jesus with students? If you would like to volunteer, please send us a message! We'd love to see how we can work together to bring Jesus to a hurting generation!
This is Marc, one of our ministry leaders with our JJM department! He enthusiastically connects with the kids in the Challenge Academy. As a coach and teacher, he knows a lot of the issues that teens struggle with and how to speak to them about those things. He loves the Lord and wants the kids to know that same hope and grace that he himself experiences each day. Marc has been a faithful volunteer since JJM began ministering in the detention center back in 2016. He keeps a busy schedule with work and home, but always finds time to share with the kids at each opportunity. We are so grateful for Marc and his heart for young people!
We appreciate you, Marc!
This is Justin, our JJM Director! He is such an amazing blessing to the Youth for Christ family! He is so faithful and has a selfless, servant's heart. He is joyful, wise, and he loves the Lord very much. He is kind, caring, and he thinks of others before himself. Anytime you're around him, you can plan to laugh a lot. In addition to being a Godly example of following Jesus, he's very funny. We are so thankful to have him! He's a bigger blessing to us than he knows!
Thank you, Justin!
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." -Romans 12:2
"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,... that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man," -Ephesians 3:16
This is Juan, another one of our ministry leaders! Juan is so joyful, passionate about ministry, helpful, and kind! He has had such a servant's heart and has been so faithful in serving the students of El Paso! We are so grateful for his leadership, service, joy, go-getter enthusiasm, and faithfulness. He has been ministering to students for a long time and we're so thankful to have him!
We appreciate you, Juan!
“Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instrument afterwards. Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all into Harmony with Him.” -James Hudson Taylor
We've heard several students tell us about how they're stressed at the beginning of the year. We've heard about how sports are stressful, looking for school supplies is stressful, getting into the swing of homework/busy schedules is stressful, and school relationships can be stressful. Will you pray for students dealing with stress? Would you pray that they would find peace, comfort, and help in Jesus?
"I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." -Psalm 18:1-2
In our experience, students are hungry for someone to care about them, to take interest in them. Would you pray about joining Youth for Christ in our mission to reach lost young people?
Would you also find an opportunity this week to show a young person the love of Jesus? Whether that's asking your waiter if you can pray for him at your mealtime prayer or giving an encouraging word to a student who looks lonely, would you pray for an opportunity this week?
“All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -Francis of Assisi
This is Irene and her sweet family! She is another member of the team! She has served YFC for many years! She is faithful, organized, fun, joyful, and helpful! She puts in so much hard work to reach kids at her campus! She is a joy to be around and a huge blessing to us! We're so grateful for her! She chooses to pour her time, love, and effort into reaching lost youth and we're so thankful to have her!
We appreciate you, Irene!
Happy Weekend, Youth for Christ fam! God is good, He is moving, and we're praying you have a great weekend! Would you say a prayer for the students of El Paso to be drawn to Jesus today?
This is another one of our ministry leaders, Noemi! She is such a blessing to the team! Her heart for ministry, for the Lord, and for people are an encouragement to see. She has such a gentle and sweet spirit. We can see why students are drawn to her. She is so faithful and patient and we're so grateful to know her!
We appreciate you, Noemi!
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." -1 Corinthians 15:58
Our JJM team has been back in the detention center for a couple of months and we are so grateful for what the Lord is doing! We are in awe! Several cadets have expressed that they want to follow Jesus!! Our team there is doing such an amazing job! We're so grateful for them! A couple of weeks ago, they gave a lesson using donuts!!! Justin was eating a donut as he talked to the cadets and told them about how delicious the donut tasted. He explained how they could hear about how good it was and even see that he was enjoying it, but they wouldn't experience that goodness until they tasted it themselves. He illustrated in such a creative way that knowing Jesus is similar. We can know about Jesus, hear about Him, see other people enjoy Him, but we have to know and experience Him for ourselves! Then the team brought in donuts for the cadets to have and enjoy! Keep our JJM team and cadets in your prayers!
