Dishwasher Job Responsibilities:
The dishwashing position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the back of house and dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.
Dishwasher Job Duties:
· Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
· Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes/cups/utensils to cook’s line/bar, and other proper storage areas. Ensure items are clean before delivering.
· Scrub pots, pans and trays by hand to ensuring food/labels are removed.
· Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster.
· Sweep/mop floors in back of house as well as garage.
· Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
· Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
· Conduct general restaurant, kitchen and restroom cleaning.
· Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
· Monitor temperate and PH levels of the machine; Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard
· Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands.
· Assist cooks with any needs during busy periods.
· Portion food inventory and store in freezers/refrigerators with labels.
· Other duties as directed.
· Arrives/maintains full uniform including nonslip shoes and hat.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed while using a YES I CAN! attitude
