Last Sun-YAY was FUN-yay for Atomic Groove as we played the La Jolla Summer Concerts for the 2nd time in a row. It was the opening day of this long standing family-friendly and FREE concert series and we kicked it off with ALOT of good vibez. It was so, so, so fun to see so many familiar faces that included many Belly Up Happy Hour regulars (past and present) and former AG private event clients. SO awesome!

Our AG guest performers Mark on vocs and Monette on congas vibrated high as per usual and sub drummer Jorge Palacios continued his last minute sub heroics for the indisposed AG drummer Mike Stone, still out on a family emergency. The whole AG band brought some summer good vibez to the lovely people of La Jolla on a beautiful summer day… our view from the stage of both the fabulous crowd and the magnificent ocean were spectacular.

Several Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class performed throughout the show, representing the fun and dedication they've put in to coming to the ongoing AG Fly Girlz Dance Class. This class is open to the public every Tuesday 630p at MB Fit Studio in Solana Beach. Special Saturday class this Saturday, July 27th at 1230p for the "Fast Track" version of the class. Come join in on the fun some time, all levels welcome to give it a try!

Join us for this Atomic Groove "Good Vibez ONLY" Summer Dance Party Happy Hour at the Belly Up, 5-8p, the second of three in a row.

This Friday our featured high vibrating AG guests: charismatic rocker vocalist Jeff Haight with is big presence, a big voice and a big heart. AG sub drummer Barry Chenault, who is currently the touring drummer with 70s R & B band Rose Royce ("Car Wash") will step in for the still out-of-town Mike Stone and provide his good-vibed good groove, too.

Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class will bring their super-charged enthusiasm, come cheer them on!

Last Friday’s “Good Vibez ONLY” Dance Party Happy Hour at Belly Up was exactly what the theme stated. The big crowd with big energy seemed to vibrate at an exceptionally high frequency, and it was felt by all. So great to see so much support for good grooves, good connection and GOOD VIBEz from every single person in attendance. We all could use this now more than ever in these “interesting” times in our lives!

Our featured semi-regular AG guests, Monette on congas and Mark Jones on vocals, were their usual high-vibrating selves. Monette once again jumped on the drums for a song, delivering her powerful rhythm via the drumset. And last minute sub AG drummer Jorge Palacios literally saved the day covering for AG drummer Mike who needed to leave town on a sudden family emergency earlier in the day. Jorge, who is also the long time touring drummer with 80s icon Rick Springfield (“Jessie’s Girl”), absolutely rocked and we are SO grateful for his "Riding In On His White Horse-The Show Must Go On" heroics!!

The Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class brought their super-charged enthusiasm for having the opportunity to dance and perform on stage, and to share in the high vibration of the AG community. So impressive!

Last Sunday we had the absolute pleasure of playing an intimate backyard wedding reception. This was a second marriage for both the “young at heart” couple, Saundra & Jon. Both are long time fans of our Happy Hours at Belly Up and we also got to re-connect with some fantastic former AG wedding/private party clients, too. This post-ceremony party was hosted at the son of the groom's lovely Carlsbad home on a beautiful summer evening. The backyard was transformed into a wonderful setting for close fam & friends to eat, mingle and DANCE! “We scheduled the whole wedding around Atomic Groove's availability, we HAD to have you here with us!” exclaimed both families!

Our 7 piece version of the band (5 piece + addt'l male lead voc Mark and sax Chuck) played appropriate, tasteful, groovy background music during the meal service. And as the sun went down the energy went way up, and we turned it up a few notches. The dance floor stayed packed until the very end, including an encore!

We are so honored to be a part of another memorable occasion that touches hearts and brings people together thru music, dance and celebrating LOVE- at any age!

Let’s toast to love - Good Vibez always!

This past Fri-YAY we embraced our “BIG Summer Fun” Dance Party Happy Hour theme with BIG open arms with a BIG hearted-vibe from both band and crowd. Our featured AG guest vocalist Kipp Lennon delivered his BIG talent and fun vibe in a BIG way. Atomic Girl Carrie and her AG Fly Girlz, Cee-Cee, Kel-Kel and the visiting Erika gave a BIG abundance of good vibez and gratitude. The BIG enthusiasm of the performing Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class was a HUGE amount of fun! So much BIG love was in the room!

We all gave some BIG support to The Challenged Athletes Foundation, with $2 of each ticket sale going to CAF. Thanks to all who participated in the silent auction and the raffle opportunity…. CAF had BIG appreciation for all of he collective support.

This past Friday's “Hello Summer 2024” Happy Hour at Belly Up was the official first AG Happy Hour of 2024 and it did NOT disappoint! A super-charged crowd hit the dance floor from the very 1st song with our "sun’s out, fun’s out" approach that radiated all Happy Hour long. We had many celebrations in the house, including a 93 year old’s b-day… and she was on the dance floor all nite long. The energy was so brilliant we even got a bra thrown on stage, a first for Atomic Groove!

Our featured AG guests all came in HOT-HOT-HOT: Monette burned it up on on both congas AND even drums for a couple songs while our AG drummer Mike stepped forward to front of stage and shined on lead vocals, our sizzling rocker vocalist Jeff Haight will brought his fire (hence the bra!) and guitarist Wayne Duncan stepped in for the summer vacationing Doug Booth with his scorching guitar work. Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class lit up the stage. The entire AG band beamed with the good vibez of summer!

We’re looking forward to our next Happy Hour “Big Summer Fun" this Friday, June 28th for our final round of our June summer series. We’ll continue the summer dance party fun with a benefit of our good friends of The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), an organization that we’ve partnered with for many years. They provide opportunities and support to those with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. Two dollars of each ticket sale of this AG Happy Hour will go directly to CAF. Enjoy a silent auction, a raffle opportunity and a heart warming presentation from CAF staff. We will welcome in the truly official start of summer of 2024 with our “Hello Summer 2024” theme. Our featured AG guests will be comin' in HOT: Monette will burn it up on on both congas AND even drums for a couple songs, our sizzling rocker vocalist Jeff Haight will bring his fire and occasional AG guitarist Wayne Duncan will sub for the summer vacationing Doug Booth, with his scorching guitar work. Last Friday's "School's Out" Dance Party Happy Hour at Belly Up was so extra exceptional! We featured many of our Studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class and they all did SUCH an outstanding job taking the stage several times throughout the show. Most of these studentz have little to no dance and/or performance experience and their journey of learning and growing has been magical to watch. Many of them performed the most dances they ever done in one show …they graduated to another level. So proud! Our only full time AG Fly Girl at this show, Kel-Kel, helped guide the Studentz with flying colors, helping to deliver the Atomic Groove joy factor the AG Fly Girlz are famous for contributing at our Happy Hours. And a big Shout Out to her, as Kel-Kel is a school teacher by day and Friday she celebrated with everyone school is out for the summer!

And a special Shout Out to our AG guitarist Doug who officially retired from his several years of being a school teacher, so school is truly completely out for him. Congrats!

Our featured vocalist Mark was his usual A++ self!

Our hi-lighted studentz from the AG Fly Girlz Dance Class did an such an outstanding job taking the stage several times throughout the show, the most dances they ever done in one show ...graduating with high honors! So proud!

We LOVE love! Weddings are so special to do, especially when the bride & groom are as full of life & love like the bride & groom were at last Saturday's wedding.

Our 7 piece version of the band included our awesome AG extras Monette on congas and rocker Jeff on vocals... we kept the dance floor rockin' for this high-energy crowd, with long dance sets that were customized to the bride & groom's faves.

Btw, the 1st dance from the bride & groom was pretty much the best we'd ever seen re: a legit ballroom dance that ended with a lift and twirl of the bride....the crowd went wild!

Today we celebrate the birthday of Atomic Groove's talented keyboardist, vocalist and Musical Director, Rob Gironda!!!

Rob has been in AG since the very beginning and has served as our mighty MD this whole time. He keeps the AG musicians on track with the way we present musically and we are so grateful for his hard work and heartfelt ex*****on of helping to deliver the Atomic Groove experience. Not to mention his amazing keyboard skills and his excellent vocals, too! Inside joke: He gives great talk back!
