Results expected within 48 hours

Nasal swab and health education about the virus to get people connected with primary care physicians or other services for their long term health needs.

Goal: to provide access to an under-served population who don’t have primary care physicians and have increased exposure due to logistics in their home situations and their work situations in which they have to go out and work in service area and other high exposure workplaces.

ATTENTION GRADUATING SENIORS!

Lake Effect Leaders AmeriCorps VISTA Project is hiring more than 25 individuals to serve with the 2019-2020 cohort. Positions will begin July 22 for sites based in Crawford County and Erie County. Interested applicants can apply here.

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that is committed to ending poverty in the U.S. Ever year, members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve at a nonprofit organization, government entity, or school and work on projects related to areas of economic opportunity, workforce development, eviction prevention, homelessness, neighborhood revitalization, opioid prevention/recovery, food access and security, mentoring, and education. VISTA member benefits include: living allowance, health coverage, robust professional development, federal loan forbearance or deferment (with interest paid), and an education award that can used to pay back school loans or continuing education. Amazing work is being done by our Environmental Engineering students. Through a mini-grant by Gannon University Erie-GAINS, students have build a vertical aeroponics system and have been collecting data to see how we can grow fresh vegetables year-round locally!

All proceeds from this year's Penny Wars competition will benefit Gannon University Erie-GAINS.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:

DramaShop is looking for 3-4 volunteers for each performance night of The Laramie Project. Volunteers will be coordinating the Box Office and Concessions Booth.

DramaShop is located in the Renaissance building (corner of State Street and 10th Street on the second floor)

Please arrive at least one hour prior to the performance. All volunteers will need to stay through the production to help clean up afterwards. Volunteers will be given the opportunity to watch the show.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY!

Students are needed to help with the Pumpkin Walk on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6th from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. both nights. Help is needed with set-up on Friday during the day and trail guides both days and evenings. Help is also needed on Sunday, October 7th in the morning to help with clean-up.

There will be food for volunteers.

The Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice (JSARP) is planning a special issue for July 2019 that will feature articles on the theme of Civic and Political Engagement.

Please use the form below to submit an abstract for this special issue by October 24, 2018.

Abstracts should be limited to 500 words and describe the proposed article and which category of publication it best matches:

· Innovations in Practice
· Media Features and Reviews

In your abstract, please include the following information:

· Research purpose or question(s)
· Methodology (instrument, participants, variables, analytic techniques)

Strong Vincent Middle School Tutoring and Mentoring Intervention | Get Connected Erie 09/12/2018

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

Gannon students needed for one hour per week to assist the teacher in the classroom at SVMS for the semester.

Two students needed to commit to 1 day a week; therefore we are in need of 30 students. (2 students per day x 3 classes per day x 5 days a week)

Volunteers needed for Monday - Friday during these periods:

2nd period 9:25 a.m. - 10:35 a.m. for 7th grade

3rd period 10:40 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. for 8th grade

6th period 1:45 - 2:55 p.m. for 6th grade

Volunteers will work with teacher to help support students who are struggling in a subject area.
