Psalms 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
Be Grateful For Every Moment
What do you do when it’s not alright? When King David said the words, “even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, your rod and your staff will protect me!” What he was saying to us is that sometimes we are going to walk in some tough places and bad things are going to happen! Things we don’t understand will shadow us, so don’t think it won’t! The truth is life is life and what comes with it is things we love, things we cherish, and things we dont understand! It’s the things we don’t understand is what causes us to question God, His existence, and His lack of empathy for us. You see the pain of life pushes us to the extreme. It showcases what we can’t control and what bothers us the most. That’s why it’s so impossible to stay under the wings of the Almighty. In Him there is shelter, in Him there is safety! Maybe today the shadow is blocking the presence of the Almighty. My prayer for you is that you will focus on life, and you will concentrate on living. Maybe you’re facing some things you don’t understand, take a step back and remember if God is for you nothing can stop you! He’s waiting to comfort you in the place you’re in!

Tonight we had an amazing night with our Children (K-3rd grade) as they shared about their day at school and we had all their favorite snacks! Thank you to Millie for bringing her sno-cone machine in for all the children to have a special treat. Loved listening to them pray as we closed out for the rest of the week at school.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Be Grateful For Every Moment
Have you ever found yourself being ungrateful or better yet unthankful? I know I have there have been many times in my life that I should’ve been so grateful but I wasn’t. It makes me look back and think why was I like that and I have to say it all came down to one thing my attitude! You see your attitude, and my attitude is a big thing that we have to overcome and sometimes in life it’s easy to let it rule our lives. It’s way too easy to get a bad attitude, which is sad on our part. As believers we need to keep our attitudes and actions and check because it affects many around us! When you look at attitudes and actions they both go hand. Today I am making it a priority to be grateful for every moment that God is giving me. You see some people didn’t wake up today! Some people are laying in a hospital, taking their last breath! We got the opportunity to get out of bed today and live another day! I was able to do a lot of things that I wasn’t planning on doing today also! You see there is so much we can be thankful for. We can be grateful for our relationship with God because he carries through a lot of situations and he has blessed many of us. We can be grateful for our family because a lot of people don’t have the family you have. We can be grateful for our jobs. We can be grateful for our church and the people that go to our church. You see there’s a lot of things we can be grateful but we have to get our eyes on the good things that God blessed us with. So my advice to you is that you keep your eyes on God and be grateful for all the things that he is doing and going to continue to do in your life.

Let God Fight For You
Do you know if there’s one thing in life that is difficult to do it’s this, it’s hard to be nice to people who aren’t nice to us. I have found out so many times in my life that it’s not always an easy road to go down when you try to do your best, but people don’t treat you the way you would like. We take the approach they don’t treat me right, so I’m just gonna do to them how they do me. But you know in order to really become who we need to be in Christ sometimes we have to be the bigger person in life. Don’t get me wrong I have struggled to be the bigger person when people did me wrong or when people have been mean to me. I always liked to do what the old saying says, “fight fire with fire.” But you know that’s not really how God wants us to be. God is wanting you and me to rise above what we’ve been through, who we think we are, and realize that He is desiring us to become better people in him. Yeah it hurts when people do us wrong, it hurts when people don’t treat us right. I understand your feelings, we have faced it many times but I want to remind you that no matter what happens, when you be the best you, when you do what you don’t wanna do, God‘s going to honor you. Just know your time is coming, maybe not right now, maybe not tomorrow, but down the road God‘s going to honor you. When you do the right thing, people are gonna realize it, and see that you have more integrity than those who do you injustice. So today I want to encourage you if people aren’t treating you right, if they are looking down on you, if they aren’t giving you the respect that you deserve, let it go and look past them. Never forget the lesson of Jesus, the very people that should’ve loved him the most, follow him to the end, rejected him, beat him, and they crucified him! But that didn’t stop him from loving them, so today no matter what goes on around you, love those that don’t seem to merit the love you have to give.

Experiencing Something New
On Wednesday I was reminded of another great lesson of life, “no matter how bad you think your life is someone else has it much worse.” Just like you sometimes I don’t realize how spoiled or better yet how good I have it in life. On Wednesday at Cathy’s Camp for Champs she took the children to their outings for the day camp. When it was over and we were getting ready to leave one of the little boys looked at me and said I got to do two things I have never done in my life and it was great. At that moment I had two emotions hit me, one was sadness and the other was happiness. The sad part was knowing that this little guy had never experienced going to Sky Zone and Chuck E. Cheese and that this camp is going to be the highlight of his summer! The second part was the happiness I got from the experience of being able to be a helper and seeing the joy that came this week from this event, so thank you Cathy! But the truth is most of us don’t have it as bad as we think. If we would step back and really look at our lives we would see how blessed we are in spite of things that are going on. Seeing a little boy experiencing something new made me even more thankful for my walk with God and how he has blessed us. It also made me think life is really good and having Christ makes it even the more better! So thank you Jesus and for keeping us all grounded!

Our youth had such a great night at our prayer and movie night last night!
We started the evening with dinner and fellowship, then the boys and girls split up as they each went into a prayer and worship service, the youth then learned what it means to leave our weight at the cross as Jesus has already won the battle, afterwards we had popcorn, candy salad, and watched Jesus Revolution! It was an amazing evening.
The best part was watching the youth pray for their peers. It’s amazing watching the Holy Spirit move within our youth.
Join us Sunday at 10:30am or COPY YOUTH every Wednesday @ 6:30!
The 3rd team has officially registered! Evansville Cathedral of Praise is ready to play. There are 5 spots remaining with two weeks left until the deadline.

Psalms 71:5
O Lord, you alone are my hope.
I’ve trusted you, O LORD, from childhood.
Don’t Lose Hope
I want to ask you a question, have you ever been in a place in your life where you have lost hope? It’s not always easy to navigate life with its unexpected turns. While it’s not hard to ride the tide when things are good it’s the times when we face difficulties that causes us to lose hope. Yesterday as I was helping serving at HDC I was looking as some individuals who were in some hopeless situations. The thing is they didn’t say it but you could see it in their eyes. That look of what am I going to do, how am I going to make it out of this situation I am in. You see we can lose hope easily too, while our circumstances are all different the end result is the same. It’s when life lets us down or when we don’t meet the expectations we put on ourselves. That is why it’s so important that we not put our hope in things of this world but that we put our hope in Jesus. I have found out that He will never fail us, never leave us, and He will love us in-spite of everything. The problem with many is that their hope is in the wrong thing, we like to look at the material and what we need to be looking to is the eternal. Maybe today you’re losing hope, maybe things are not how you planned, my prayer for you is that you will trust God to bring you to that better place in Him!

Wednesdays Family Night. ❤️
Today we went back and forth at whether we should do our Sisters of Strength “Taco’bout It” Event due to the weather, but we are so grateful we kept as scheduled. It was a perfect evening! Over 35 ladies came out for a informative, fun and creative evening. We had the opportunity to enjoy a yummy taco bar and desserts, be enlightened with knowledge by our guest speaker, paint bags and make journals for the less fortunate girls and women in our community, laugh and enjoy each other, hear the story of “The Good Samaritan” and how we must have compassion, and ended by joining hands in prayer and taking turns to pray for girls and women struggling in our community with issues we heard of this evening and praying we can be a light to them. Thank you to Chrissy for bringing awareness of s*x and labor trafficking to us, thank you to everyone that prepped the taco bar and desserts, thank you to Tiana for helping with decorations, thank you to all that helped cleanup and thank you to Marcy our SOS Leader for doing a phenomenal job this evening.

It Will Go Quick
In life we always talk about the enemy of death, but we never consider there is another enemy. It’s called time, you see in life we only have so much of it! As I was thinking about time and how much it means to many of us including me, I didn’t consider how fast it was going to go. When I was a kid it seemed to go by so slow. I used to think will this get here or can that happen quicker. When will I be able to do this and that and now that as I’m older, I look at time and I realize how important it is and how fast it has went by. That’s why we need to appreciate what God is giving me and you. You see we’re only given so much time on this earth and what are you going to do with that time? How are you treating people, what will your mark be in life, what will your impact be upon people? I know we can’t predict our future, we never know when our time is going to be done, but shouldn’t we be living our life to the fullest with God! You see he’s given us this awesome ability to live life to the fullest, but yet many of us are wasting it upon being upset, being mad at people, not getting our way. In life we all want certain things, we have goals we want to reach, but we have to realize that time is only for a moment and how you use it or waste it is up to you. Remember times is like a v***r, it’s for a moment so go live life to the fullest with God!
