Thank you to our Parks Maintenance Department for mowing the meadow at Exton Park. Mowing a first year meadow before the weeds go to seed is crucial for the wildflowers' successful growth.

Due to the high heat and UV index, Yoga in the Park for Saturday, 6/22 has been moved indoors to Zia Yoga & Wellness .

Last night, over 225 people joined West Whiteland Township's Historic Commission, staff, and volunteers for Chester County Planning Commission's Town Tours and Village Walks at the Indian Run Farm site.
The tour focused on Adaptive Reuse, the process of reusing an existing building for a purpose other than which it was originally built or designed for. This not only saves the historic structure but also adds economic value to the area.

Did you know - 15% of trash at Lanchester Landfill is food waste - most of it edible food waste! (according to a 2021 study). Although food does decompose, it also creates methane, a greenhouse gas that can contribute to climate change.

Recycling Totes Delivered to West Whiteland

Thanks to a grant from The Recycling Partnership, West Whiteland Township is providing 5,000 households with large, wheeled recycling totes for their weekly collection. These carts provide additional space for collecting recycling and, importantly, improve both safety and efficiency for the trash and recycling haulers.

The first of two delivery phases began this week. If you have questions or feedback, please email [email protected].

We value your feedback as we continually look for ways to improve services for our residents and to continue to build upon our very successful recycling program which we rank in the top 10% in the State. West Whiteland Township receives money from Pennsylvania based on the amount of material we recycle. The more we recycle, the more money we get back to keep the trash bag prices down. Please help us continue to make recycling pay!

When school is not in session neither are school meals. There are nearly 25,000 kids in Chester County that qualify for free & reduced lunches!
WWT has drop off bins for the Chester County Food Bank in the lobby. You can drop off donations after hours in the side vestibule next to the Police Dept. Most needed summer items are easy to make lunches, things that kids can fix for themselves without needing the help of an adult.

At the Board of Supervisors (BOS) meeting on Wednesday, June 12, the BOS will be discussing an amendment to prohibit parking the full length of Route 100 as well as reviewing the land development plan for Columbia Cottage personal care facility that was approved by the Planning Commission on April 17, 2024. The Applicant first presented the Columbia Cottage land development plan to the Board at their meeting on May 22, 2024. The Board took no action at that time due to remaining concerns about the evacuation plan. The June 12 meeting will be the second presentation of the plan to the Board.

The trash hauler, AJ Blosenski, alerted the Township this evening that not all of the trash for our Pay-as-you-Throw customers has been collected today.
