We always love to see cross college ! This past year, Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music partnered with the College of Engineering and Computing at George Mason University to develop an immersive experience for a Center for the Arts at George Mason University performance!

A group of students built a motorized Vitruvian man for "Flying to the Stars," a choral concert dedicated to the beginnings of flight from the time of Leonardo da Vinci to the exploration of space.

This projected was awarded a grant from George Mason University Life, an opportunity which allowed for students to get hand-on experience in developing and deploying their inventions on the big stage!

Happy ! Today, we're spotlighting Mason's LGBTQ Resources Center and their educational and enrichment opportunities for the campus community. 🏳️‍🌈💚💛

During this year's LGBTQ+ Faculty Fellow Symposium, Film at Mason professor Lisa Thrasher presented her work in highlighting marginalized voices. Professor Thrasher showed a collection of select clips from her films, all of which centered LGBTQ+ stories, voices, writers, and directors.

Mason's LGBTQ+ Resource Center seeks to grant faculty who are doing relevant research a platform to share their work, discussing student opportunities for civic engagement, and deepening our knowledge of LGBTQ+ history. This transition is one that the center is bringing into their year-round connection to the academic mission of the university.

That dedication to a welcoming and supportive campus climate is what keeps Mason at the top of the Campus Pride Index and the Athlete Ally’s Athletic Equality Index. The university has maintained perfect scores on both indexes for multiple years.
