Fight the Good Fight!!!
“Fight the good fight of faith: take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12
When I was a kid, I loved to watch boxing: Muhammad Ali, Smokin’ Joe Frazier, George Foreman (before the famous George Foreman Grill, which you can buy on Amazon for the low price of $54), Sugar Ray Leonard, and Roberto Duran (who famously knocked out a horse with a single blow to win a bet for a bottle of whisky).
Now I know some of you are opposed to fighting, but the Bible tells us that we are in the middle of a fight. This fight is not against flesh and blood.
Tomorrow at Solano Valley church at 10:00 a.m. we are kicking off a new series based on 1 Timothy called Fight the Good Fight. It is a book pregnant with significance and relevant application at precisely our moment in time. Our fight is not a political fight. It is a spiritual fight, and the stakes are much higher than what happens in November.
I hope to see you tomorrow and I look forward to digging into 1 Timothy with you and discovering what it says to us about life today.
