Do you need a ride to vote this week....contact us at [email protected]
REASONS YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN ADVANCE OF ELECTION DAY: Is your workday more than 11 hours each day? This includes your driving and lunch time too. Workers on a flex schedule easily meet this requirement. Even some who work 10 hours day easily meet it. Will you be out of town on Election Day for any time? Will you be leaving Falls Church City on Election Day for personal reasons or work business? Are you expecting to be out of the city on business or personal travel? Are you a student or the spouse of a student? Do you care for someone who depends on you? Do you have a disability?
If you are an early riser and have time during this work week you can vote early and also before you go home from work or school as late as 7 pm.
Weather BULLETIN....SANDY SAYS....
VOTE TODAY AND TOMORROW (Saturday).
The Registrar's office is open today until 5 p.m. and they are open tomorrow from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m
The weather rules say voting is always down when bad weather strikes....get a hold of the storm and vote in advance.
For more information about voting for the Democratic Ticket and how to help get out the vote write [email protected]
ALSO....
Vote NO on Question 1 concerning the EMINENT DOMAIN change to the State Constitution (it IS about the goverment taking away your property not for the goverments use but to transfer it to another PRIVATE owner). The difference is what the goverment must pay YOU versus the business having to negotiate WITH YOU. There are two very differnent compensaton rates in those different types of transactions. The Goverment rate to compensate you is far lower.
Vote YES on Question 2 allowing the General Assembly to delay its veto session by up to one week in order for the session to avoid interfering with events such as religious holidays. This is primarily a housekeeping measure.
VOTER REGISTRATION IS ENDING SOON LOCALLY FOR PEOPLE IN FALLS CHURCH CITY..........REALLY?????
No, but it could be the effective result of returning students leaving town to go back to college.
Many times when college students go off to college and they have failed to register to vote for the November election they just don't get around to it AFTER they have left.
They WANT to be registered but the summer has been busy and there is ALWAYS STILL TIME. We all know how that is...'
So are you registered in Virginia? Did someone take your registration form and offer to submit it for you? Are your sure that the DMV processed it for you?

They won't accept faxs for Voter Registration forms.
HERE IS A TRUTH: There is NO better time to register than BEFORE students leave town for college.
Every election provides its own set of reasons why it is important to vote. What are the hottest topics that attract young voters and compel them to either stay home or go out and vote? Here are a few we've heard.
-Women's reproductive rights and access? (This IS a man's issue too).
-Costs for student loans. (True whether they or their parents are paying those loans?)
-Stability of the financial markets with proper regulation. (When they get their high paying jobs it will mean a lot to them then).
-Insuring NATIONAL protection against a financial industry that sucks them into products that sink their futures by giving them more credit than they reasonably need or can pay off.
- Whether SOPA or P**A is supported by their candidate. (Note to self - P**A is NOT Kate's sister).
VOTER REGISTRATION is also being performed at the Falls Church Farmers' Market every Saturday where volunteers are collecting VOTER REGISTRATION forms and then delivering them to the Registrar's office.
VOTER REGISTRATION is also done at the Organizing for America office at Loehmann's Plaza (next to the Bally's Fitness Center).
VOTER REGISTRATION is also
If a young voter will be 18 by November 6th they can register now!!!! Who knew? Well we did and now you know.
Keep in mind - suppression of voting is NOT an American Value - if you are eligible to vote you should. Young voters should show all those that want to silence their voice that they will not be quiet. That they WILL be heard in this election and future elections.

Democratic Primary election is June 12th. Have you voted yet?
Absentee in Person voting is happening NOW. Vote at the Registrar's Office in City Hall Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Don't think Primary voting is important? It is. A lot of people are wondering why their candidate didn't advance to the general election in 2010.
In fact, some are now wondering why their candidate lost in this springs primary's in other parts of this country. Will that be you?
Stop by the Registrar's office on the way to work. Book that vote in advance if you will be away from Falls Church City on June 12th.
This coming Tuesday, May 1st, is the last city election being held in May. Registered voters will choose on that day who will represent them on the City Council and on the School Board.
Falls Church Votes! encourages voters to get out and vote in every election.
November 5, 2013 is the first time that city elections will be held since the city voters overwhelmingly voted in 2011 to move city elections from May to November dates in odd numbered years. 2013 is when voters will also elect a new governor and other state officials and representatives. Note: National office elections are held on even numbered years.
Do your civic duty - VOTE in every election.

IT IS ‘CHECK IT’___ AND___ ‘FIX IT’ TIME!!!!!!
It's 2012!!! Do you know where your Voter Registration card is?
You can easily check your Virginia Voter Registration status right from the State Board of Election website (see link below).
Everything in relationship to your registration will have to be in full order to vote this year. Did you move? Did your name change due to marriage or divorce? If so, you have to make a change to your voter registration card. Do it sooner rather than later.
Did you think DMV made that change for your update to your license? What if you guess wrong?
CHECK THIS LINK. If anything is wrong....FIX IT AT THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE (the second link is for Falls Church City residents).
CHECK IT!

Your vote needs to be counted and not challenged. A few minutes will give you the answers you need. CHECK IT and FIX IT!
VOTE "YES" for moving City elections to November on November 8th. Voter turnout has dropped each decade.
In the 2010 city elections voter turnout was a paltry 24% of registered voters. FCCDC supports greater turnout and wants elections to remain non-partisan.
Falls Church City is recognized for having the highest percentage of voter turnout across the state IN NATIONAL elections - FCCDC believes that for city elections turnout should once again reflect citizen involvement and interest in exclusively all things FALLS CHURCH.
This is our home town. Schools and real estate taxes are worth coming out to show WHO you want representing you on those issues.
Please NOTE: This vote DOES NOT change city elections into partisan elections - it just changes the MONTH city elections will occur. VOTE YES!!!
