Meet some Virginians who almost lost their right to vote after being declared 'noncitizens' Dozens of people in Southwest Virginia had their voter registration canceled after Gov. Youngkin handed down an executive order on Aug. 7 that removed “noncitizens” from Virginia’s voter rolls. Some of them are U.S. citizens.
Help Return the Vote to Citizens Purged from Virginia’s Voter Rolls
The Virginia League urgently needs our help to reach people who were purged from the voter rolls as a consequence of Governor Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 35. If the person is a citizen, it is imperative to let them know that they can be restored as a registered voter. PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN THE PHONE BANK.
The following link will take you to ActionID and the Virtual Phone Bank where you can sign in or create an ActionID account and then follow the script and prompts to call and speak with people who have been purged from the state voter rolls. The script unfolds on the screen as you ask questions, the person answers, and you record their answers. Please go to Open Virtual Phone Bank where you can sign in or create an account and begin calling.
Open Virtual Phone Bank Open Virtual Phone Bank (OpenVPB) is your tool to make phone calls to voters and automatically record their responses for your organization.
Data shows eligible voters could have their registration canceled as part of Virginia’s efforts to keep non-citizens off voter rolls Newly obtained data shows Virginia’s process for taking non-citizens off the state’s voter rolls could be wrongfully identifying eligible voters for removal.
