Seals-This week is SHINE ON week at SHBR. SHBR has partnered with The Casey Schulman Foundation to honor Casey Schulman, a former fun-loving Seal, who considered SHBR to be her second home. SHBR members have contributed more than $97,000 to a scholarship program to help motivated students at Justice High School who have made a wonderful difference in their community. It is a $20,000 scholarship that rewards Kindness, and students who continue to work hard, no matter the challenges, students who, like Casey, have a joyous, meaningful outlook on life.

Swim-A-Thon - SHBR Swim Team Beginning in 2013, the SHBR Swim Team has swum thousands of laps in support of a great cause. First partnering with LLS and then The Casey Schulman Foundation, we have raised more than $97,000 through this event. We invite our swim team alumni, adult swim community and dive team to join the fun.

Close loss for the Seals today, congrats to all who swam and thank you to our volunteers! Our next B meet is this Monday at SHBR. More information to follow but signups are now open on swimtopia. Signups will close at noon Monday. We will be offering IM. If you are unsure if your swimmer can do IM, please ask the coaches. We will swim IM first. Swimmers can signup for 2 events, plus IM. Because this is a home meet, we will need a lot of volunteers. Job signup is also now open on swimtopia. Please volunteer.

7:30-8:30AM: Open to all ages.
7:45-9:00AM: 13&over.
9-10AM: 9-12s.
10-10:45AM: 8&Us
10:30-11AM: Seal Pups.

We now need everyone to indicate their availability for the team's A meets and the Division Relay Carnival (so 6 meets total). For those who are new to the team, we are limited to three entries per event for Saturday's A meets and 1 relay per age group for the Division Relay Carnival. The coaches choose swimmers based on times from previous meets. We understand that some swimmers may not be available for all meets so we ask that everyone declare their availability so the coaches can set our lineup for each meet.

To declare availability, login at shbr.swimtopia.com, click on "Meets & Events" and then on "Signup Instructions." This will walk you through the process. We ask that every swimmer declare so the coaches don't have to track down swimmers when they are trying to set our lineups.

Looking forward to week 2 of practice today. Time Trials is this Saturday at home, and our first B Meet Monday at Lee Graham.
Time Trials are where swimmers will get their first times, which help determine entry into our first A meet.
Swimmers can sign up for up to 3 events at the Saturday meet and 2 events at the Monday meet.
Signup for the Saturday meet is now open at shbr.swimtopia.com. Sign ups will close at 6pm on Thursday.
We also need a lot of volunteers. Don't be shy. If you have questions about a role, please ask. It takes about 40 volunteers to run a meet.

Seals, hope the first day of practice went well. Parents and alums, now it's your time. Masters swim starts tomorrow! Masters swim will run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30-730am beginning Wednesday, May 31 through Friday, September 1. Contact our swim team coaches Alexandra Simonson and Jenna Cay at [email protected] if you would like to join. We will have daily drop in rates as well as monthly and whole summer rates. Swimmers of all levels, age 18 and up, are welcome.
