Today we remember the lives that were lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. 2,977 loved ones who wouldn't return home. We honor these heroes, including all the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and citizens who risked their lives to save others.
Cydney and James got married on June 21st and wanted to extend a thank you to some of the people that made their day so special.
Venue: Rustic Oaks
“Rustic Oaks and Addison Rodel. Addison was amazing to work with and offered great support and guidance leading up to as well as throughout the day. Rustic Oaks is a beautiful venue with all the accommodations you would ever need plus many more.”
Caterer: Jimmy D’s Catering Services
"We were so excited for Jimmy to cater our wedding after we did our taste test with him. He did not disappoint. We still dream of the mac n cheese he served! Working with Jimmy was very easy and he has a great way of providing lots of food that tastes like your best home cooked meal."
Photography: Tomi Dawn Photo
“Tomi and her husband Anders were with us from the very beginning all the way through. They were extremely generous with their time and their wedding package by allowing us to not stress on the day of our wedding. A+++ for Tomi and could not recommend enough!”
Pastor: Stephen Abbot
“Last but not least, our Pastor Stephen. It was extremely important for us to have our day be centered around our faith. Stephen did all of our marriage prep and also married us on our wedding day. It was an incredible blessing for Stephen to come into our lives and we can’t thank him enough for his guidance and direction with us throughout our entire marriage process.”
✨FOUNDATION SPOTLIGHT: Cordell Volson, Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Lineman, started the Small Towns Big Dreams Foundation to help provide young people in rural communities with the resources and opportunities they need to pursue their dreams. We were honored to sponsor the 2nd annual football camp held in Harvey, ND, which hosted over 500 campers this year. The camp focuses not just on teaching athletic skills, but sharing stories and core values from each of the coaches that helped them get to where they are today.

September's Cream of the Crop award winner is Mark Nyquist of Nyquist Farms. Mark and his sons operate the third-generation farm out of Moorhead, MN. We got to hear the history of the operation and how it has evolved since the 1930s when it was founded. On behalf of us and Valley News Live, we are thrilled to highlight the amazing work of the Nyquist family.

This fall, I will be spending Saturdays with Bison 1660 as a sideline reporter. We kicked off last weekend at US Bank Stadium for the Bison Football season opener. I'm excited to get to work with this crew on Saturdays and support the 2023 team!
August's Cream of the Crop award winners are Mark and Rhoda Habedank of Habedank Farm. This 5th generation operation houses several crops, including wheat, sugar beets, and corn. The farm itself is tied to the rich history of Twin Valley, Minnesota where it resides. The Habedank family is very involved in their community, specifically their church community at Wild Rice Lutheran. We are pleased to honor their family with this award.

This year, my team and I are proud to say we are featured in the 2023 Faces of Fargo magazine. We got to touch on the unique planning strategies we can provide business owners and farmers in our area. Reach out to connect on how we can help you in your planning journey.
July's Cream of the Crop award winner is Richard Yaggie of Yaggie Farms. Richard and his son Allen run the operation in Breckenridge, MN. They farm a variety of crops on the land that his dad originally bought in 1935. His upbringing was very influential on him and his siblings -- so much so that they all run their own farming businesses. Allen got involved in the operation with his father at a young age and knew this was the path for him. We are proud to award the Yaggie family with this award and honor all the hard work they have put in for generations.
If you know a farmer that deserves to be recognized, please tell us about them at https://www.valleynewslive.com/news/cream-of-the-crop/
June's Cream of the Crop award winner is Randy Richards of Richards & Judisch Farms. Randy, a 3rd generation farmer, has been farming the land for over 50 years, all while serving his community of Hope, ND. He works alongside Scott Judisch and Tony Richards to raise corn, soybeans, barley, and pinto beans. They have adapted through the years as technology has changed to keep their farm the most efficient operation possible. We were elated to award this month's honor to someone so deserving.
If you have a farmer that you would like to nominate, please visit https://www.valleynewslive.com/news/cream-of-the-crop/ to tell us why they deserve to be the Cream of the Crop!
A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to partake in a business academy put on through Northwestern Mutual called Fastrack Academy. Fastrack has been around since the World War 2 era and has now become an exclusive week-long event targeted towards the development of a select group of excelling advisors. The week consists of business training and personal / business development. Me and 59 other colleagues who had to qualify and be chosen in order to attend, spent the entire week listening, learning, and being poured into as to how we can grow and help our clients. I can honestly say it was one of, if not the most, impactful experiences I have had the pleasure of participating in. The opportunity that we have to help our clients and the unique value we have the ability to provide has never been clearer. Our firm is excited to continue to grow alongside our clients, provide exclusive solutions, and look forward to many more new relationships in the future.
Last week, we kicked off our Summer Internship Program at Oxbow Country Club. The interns got to meet the leadership team, learn CRM systems and technology for their business, and perfect their elevator pitches. We are excited to support this group and see all their success this summer!
We are excited to announce our May Cream of the Crop award winner is D&D Steffl Farms. Brothers David and Danny Steffl currently run the 3rd generation grain farm based in Callaway, MN. They are extremely passionate about keeping the farm in their family and passing it on to David's son Noah. In the process of integrating the next generation into the farm, they have acquired 1,000 more acres, expanding to a 5,000-acre operation. We are thrilled to honor the vision and hard work of the Steffl family.
