Helical piers arent only for new construction! The original cabin was built during WW2 and the additions have since settled 1-2" creating a very unlevel interior. The existing foundation was at most only 10" below grade allowing the frost and elements to affect the footing. To give the foundation strength we lined the whole perimiter with 6x6 angle iron and underpinned it with 21 P3 helical piers. After lifting the cabin is now perfectly level on the interior and will stay that way! We are also working on adding a cathodic protection system to the steel used to give a lifetime of security to the underpinning material.
