Today is the longest day of the year! Every year, the Alzheimer's Association highlights today as a day to shine a light on Alzheimer's disease, their efforts to find a cure, and the services they provide to families looking for help.

There are many reasons why we continue to fight for a cure for Alzheimer's disease each year. And every year, our donation goal increases just a little bit more as we strive to offer the Alzheimer's Association the resources it needs.

Our efforts started in 2016 as a tribute to the founder of our company, Leonard Astrup, who passed away in 2014 after battling the disease. But that was just the beginning. The sad reality of the disease is that we are all connected to someone affected by it.

As we have continued our fundraising journey over the past eight years, we have heard from neighbors across our communities about the importance of finding a cure and supporting families in need. It is truly inspiring to see how our communities are willing to chip in each year to care for others 💜

We have come up with some new ways to get involved in hopes of keeping up with that passion for this year's efforts. One of those new ideas is selling fundraising t-shirts—designed by our Astrup Companies coworkers!

It's the first day of June, which means it's time for Sterling Pharmacy—and the rest of our coworkers at Astrup Companies—to jump into fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer's Association! This year, we are setting our sights high with a goal of raising $100,000 to help find a cure for this devastating disease. To help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, several of our coworkers created Alzheimer’s-inspired t-shirts. With a little help from our friends at Games People Play in Austin, you can purchase your favorite shirt (or favorite five shirts) and have the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association (one-sided shirts donate $10 and two-sided shirts donate $7).

Join us for The Longest Day 5K!

By registering to walk, run, skip, or jump in our virtual 5K, not only are you helping those families impacted by the devastating disease of Alzheimer's, but you will also receive an Astrup Companies Alzheimer's-themed t-shirt. Sterling Pharmacy is part of the Astrup Companies family of businesses.

How It Works:
1. Choose an Astrup Companies team that you would like to walk with.
2. Register for only $25!
3. Encourage your family and friends to join you in person or virtually.
4. Pick a date, get your body moving, and complete your 5K.
5. Submit a victory photo. (Selfies are accepted!)
