Our office will be closing at 1:00 pm Thursday 1/4/24 and we will reopen Monday for normal business. We apologize for the late notice.

If you are visiting our clinic for OIT please do not bring sick individuals to that appointment. We take the health of all of our patients and guests seriously and do not want to expose anyone to an illness.

Starting 10/3/2023 there will be construction on Middlebelt frol 696 to Maple. Please plan accordingly based on your scheduled appointment time.

Our office does not have power. All appointments for today are cancelled. We will contact you to reschedule.

Happy New Year

We are in the process of transitioning to new internal software. Please be patient with us as we familiarize ourselves with the new formats.

Kiosk check in is temporally paused. You will need to check in with patient engagement. This will be replaced with an automated check in via mobile device.

Pre visit details previously captured at the kiosk will be provided to the medical assistant upon check in. This too will be replaced with a text/email to gather your previous weeks up dose experiences.

Additional details will be published here and in office once the systems have been streamlined.

We are receiving a good number of inquiries regarding OIT dosing and vaccines so we are posting the following helpful logic. As always you are welcome to contact our office for questions, clarification or other needs.

OIT Dosing -All Vaccines(Covid, Flu etc)

You may receive your OIT home dose the day of your vaccine. Please dose at least 5 hours before your vaccine is administered. As always you should have your EPI with you.

Skip your dose the day after your receive a vaccine.

Monitor temperature and symptoms for a few days after you receive a vaccine.

If you do not have a fever or other symptoms you may resume dosing the next day. This should be a full dose.

If you have symptoms do not dose and contact the office for dosing instructions once symptoms have subsided.

Friendly reminder that all prescription refill requests should be sent through your patient portal or through our website not through the emergency on call physician lines.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

As we enter fall, we are seeing an increase in patients and guardians arriving to our office for their scheduled wellness or oral immunotherapy visit who are displaying systems of cold, flu or other illnesses. Please reschedule your appointment if any person or persons who will be coming to the office is running a fever. Should you arrive at the office displaying symptoms of illness we will request you wear a mask for the entirety of the visit. For patients in the OIT program if the patient is not eating normal at home and activity levels are less than 80% of normal, we will need to reschedule. It is imperative that we provide a safe and healthy environment for all patients, guardians, and our staff.

The cost for Auvi Q if your insurance covers the product should be no greater than $35.00.

The cost for Auvi Q if your insurance does not cover the product should be no greater than $150.00.

Due to recent changes in CDC guidelines, masks are now optional for guests to our office. If you wish to continue to mask in the office please remember to bring your mask with you. All staff at AAISEMI will wear masks as we continue to encourage the use of masks in close and/or medical settings. Friendly reminder that it is imperative that patients in our OIT program have a complex carb heavy snack 20 minutes or less before they arrive for their up dose appointment. This is not optional and it is necessary for a successful updose appointment.

We are seeing an uptick in arrivals to our office without masks and with more guests then space allows.

For clarity you must wear a mask in our office unless you are two years or under. If you forget your mask we do have them for purchase.

In addition we are still scheduling based on social distancing. This means the appointment may be attended by the patient and one parent/guardian unless pre approved by management. The standard exemptions to this are Day 1 and Challenge appointments. We can only provide additional guest approval the day of the appointment. Please call 248-363-3232 X 2. If you get our voicemail please leave a detailed message and we will get right back with you. If you arrive with auxiliary guests you may need to be rescheduled and charges may apply.

At the end of this month (July 2022), Lety Haff, PA will be leaving Allergy & Asthma Institute of SE Michigan. She is relocating out of state for family obligations. We are supportive of Lety as she moves on to this new chapter in her life. She will miss all the patients of the OIT clinic.

Allergy & Asthma Institute of SE Michigan is committed to serving you and ensuring you have a smooth transition of care. Sharmin Tanim has graciously joined our team. Sharmin is an International Medical Graduate who studied at the Medical School Medical College for Women. We have also added Christian to our team who is a EMT, Paramedic. As always, the clinic will have continuous oversite by Dr. Chad Mayer and the support staff.

Friendly reminder, we still require masks in our office and we limit attendance for up dose visits to our office to the patient and one parent or guardian. Appointment scheduling, patient flow and social distancing are based on this logic. We simply do not have the capacity to allow for additional guests that may or may not be able to manage continuous mask use in our office. If you arrive for your appointment with more than the outlined number of guests we may not be able to accommodate your appointment and you will need to reschedule.

Recently the CDC altered its recommendations regarding masks and indoor activities. Due to the nature of our practice, we will still require masks for our staff and for guests to our office with the exception of anyone 2 years old and under. It is our goal to provide excellent healthcare and part of that includes the continued safety of all visitors but most importantly those guests that are immunocompromised.

OFFICE COVID POLICY

If you have tested positive for Covid 19 you may be seen in the office after a full 7 days if you test negative with a rapid test and without a fever for 24 hrs. You may be seen after a full 10 days if you have been without a fever for 24 hours.

If you have been exposed to someone with Covid 19 we ask that you cancel any in-person visits until 5 days have passed and have not developed any symptoms with a negative COVID test (rapid or PCR) or 10 days have passed without any symptoms. If you develop symptoms then see the tested positive for COVID-19 protocol.

FYI - The office wifi is acting up slightly and and a result there are connectivity issues for electronics. Please plan accordingly.
